Erling Haaland’s agent has revealed the three reasons why the young striker made the switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City last summer.
Haaland has hit the ground running in his first campaign in England in some style, scoring 27 goals from his 24 league matches. The tally puts him well ahead of second-placed Harry Kane in the scoring charts.
The young Norwegian has also netted five Champions League goals and scored once in the League Cup to take his total to 33 goals in 33 games in all competitions.

Speaking at the FT Business of Football Summit in London, Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta noted that the striker made the switch to the Etihad due to the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola, the attractiveness of the Premier League and because his father Alfie also played for the club.
Brazilian lawyer Pimenta previously worked as the business partner of agent Mino Raiola, taking over the running of the agency after he passed away last April.
She explained how her players always aim to have a plan in mind when trying to achieve their goals, with the future of Haaland one of the hottest topics in world football.
“We have to make a plan, we need to have a goal,” said Pimenta, as per BBC Sport. “Maybe we won’t achieve it, but if we don’t know where we’re going, then for sure we don’t get there.”
Premier League the number one destination
Pimenta also touched on the dramatic rise of the Premier League in recent times, explaining that where once players used to despise being sent to the English top flight, it is now the only league they want to play in.
She noted that many players do not even have a club in mind when thinking of their next move, with a switch to the Premier League their only priority.
Pimenta added: “When I started in this business, if I tell them [a player], ‘you move to England,’ they would ask me, ‘what did I do wrong?’
“Now when we talk to players, and ask them what is their goal, they say the Premier League. They don’t say a team, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, they say the Premier League.
“This is the first time in 25 years that I hear so many players say I want to go to a league, not to a club. This is the place to be for an agent.”
Haaland to Real Madrid?
As mentioned, Haaland’s future is always a trending topic in football, and one club that have had strong links to his signature is Real Madrid.
Madrid knocked Man City out of the competition in the semi-finals last time out, and are set to do the same to Liverpool in the round of 16 this time around.
They have won the Champions League five times since 2014, with Pimenta noting that Madrid’s “magic” is hugely tempting for many players, with Haaland perhaps one such player.
“There’s the Premier League and then there’s also Madrid,” added Pimenta. “They have something of their own that is also the dream for the players. Madrid keeps this magic going. They don’t have the weekly competitions, but they have the Champions League.”
