Our England predicted lineup vs Italy sees Gareth Southgate make wholesale changes from the team that started against Australia on Friday night.
One player who did not feature in the 1-0 friendly win that is almost certain to start in this Euro 2024 qualifier is captain Harry Kane, who we have predicted to score at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, after becoming England’s all-time record scorer by netting in the reverse fixture.

Southgate says that he will continue to play Jordan Henderson, despite the backlash he has received as England fans booed him during the Australia match. The Three Lions manager was also full of praise for Marc Guehi in his pre-game press conference, and says that they are working closely with Manchester City in terms of John Stones’ recovery from injury.
Kyle Walker spoke in the press conference alongside Southgate, suggesting that he is in line to start against Italy, while other regulars like Jordan Pickford, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham will also be expected to return to the starting XI, having been left on the bench against Australia.

England key players – Our top three

Harry Maguire – Does he start again?
Maguire has been in the firing line from England fans and media for continuing to be picked by Southgate despite poor form and lack of minutes at club level.
He has only played 206 minutes of football for Manchester United this season, and last time out in an England shirt, he scored an own goal as the Three Lions beat Scotland 3-1 in a friendly to mark the 150-year anniversary of the fixture in September. However, with questions over Stones’ fitness, Maguire could well be used from the start again against Italy.

Kalvin Phillips – Southgate to show loyalty?
A similar story to Maguire, Phillips continues to be picked by Southgate despite a lack of minutes at club level. Indeed, he has only played 167 minutes for Manchester City this campaign, and is yet to start in any competition.
However, like a lot of England’s first-team regulars, Phillips was left on the bench against Australia, implying that he could start against Italy after gaining some rest.

Jude Bellingham – A star is born
Bellingham has taken his big-money summer move to Real Madrid in his stride, scoring 10 goals in 10 games from midfield, and also producing three assists. He also scored and assisted last time out in an England shirt, and will be hungry to net again for his country.
Bellingham did not play a single minute against Australia on Friday, and so will be fresh to rip up the Wembley pitch when Italy come calling.

England predicted lineup vs Italy – The Final Word
England will be expected to make plenty of changes from the side that started against Australia on Friday, with many of the traditional household names set to come in. It will be interesting to see whether Southgate keeps faith with the likes of Maguire and Phillips, with such a talented squad around them to choose from.
Nonetheless, expect him to go strong, as the Three Lions aim to seal Euro 2024 qualification.
