Chelsea – Blues aim for a first win of the season?

Chelsea played quite well in the first game of the season against Liverpool. The blues also dominated for the majority of the game against West Ham. However, the club are still struggling to put away their chances and it has cost them dearly in the first two games. Mauricio Pochettino quickly needs to get his first win as a Chelsea manager out of the way, as the current run could return to end his honeymoon period even before it begins.

Team news: Chelsea

Chelsea’s injury list continues to grow with every week. Mauricio Pochettino comes into the game with as many as eight first-team players missing from the upcoming match. Carney Chukwuemeka, who scored Chelsea’s only goal against West Ham, is ruled out of the game after undergoing a knee surgery. Recce James remains on the sidelines alongside a whole host of defenders. Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, and Trevoh Chalobah are the long-term absentees. Armando Broja, Christopher Nkunku, and Marcus Bettinelli are also on the treatment table.

Chelsea Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):

Robert Sanchez, Malo Gusto, Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Ben Chilwell, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Nicolas Jackson

Luton Town – Revenge for Last Season’s Defeat?

Luton get ready for only the second league match of the campaign. After being outclassed thoroughly by Brighton in the first match of the season, Luton are unlikely to have too much hope pinned on the upcoming game at Stamford Bridge. The newly promoted team have had a fortnight to prepare for the game, but this may work against them – especially at the start of a new campaign.

Luton are still involved in the transfer market looking to strengthen the team in a couple of areas. Any new signings may not feature in the game against CForhelsea as Luton go in search of the first points in the Premier League. The last success for Luton in any game against Chelsea came all the way back in 1991. The odds are heavily stacked against the newly promoted team, who are “coming into the game.
