4 reasons Chelsea supporters can be excited about next Premier League season

Chelsea really have endured a horrendous season, with Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard all struggling massively in the dugout at Stamford Bridge.

Each manager has had very similar issues at the West London outfit, with the experienced bosses ultimately failing to get the best out of a star-studded squad.

Chelsea fans will be desperate for the current campaign to be brought to an end as soon as possible, with their wishes coming true on Sunday when they take on Newcastle in their final match of the Premier League season.

It will undoubtedly be another tough test for Lampard’s men, but at least the final whistle will represent the end of a torrid time and perhaps the start of something new at Stamford Bridge.

While supporters will be devastated at how things have gone recently, there should be plenty of excitement ahead of the new campaign.

4 reasons Chelsea fans can be excited about next season

Fernandez at the core

Enzo Fernandez is one of several new faces to have arrived at Stamford Bridge in recent times, and he is one of the few who can be proud of his displays. The midfielder joined the Blues for a huge fee, but he hasn’t let it get to his head and has performed admirably since day one.

The new Chelsea manager, which looks certain to be Mauricio Pochettino, will be foolish not to build the midfield around Fernandez, with not many Premier League clubs able to boast that they have a World Cup winner among their ranks.

The former Tottenham manager agreed a deal to become the new head coach of the Blues earlier this month, according to Sky Sports, and while he has a huge task on his hands, he has a ready-made star on his hands in Fernandez.

Squad balancing

With the new arrivals comes the inevitable need to balance the squad, and that certainly needs to happen at Chelsea this summer, with several first-team players set to leave at the end of the season.

The likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are just a few of the high-profile names who could be heading for the exit door in the upcoming transfer window.

Mudryk can light up final third

Like all of the attackers at Chelsea this season, Mykhailo Mudryk has failed to hit the heights expected of him in blue, with the forward really lacking in confidence.

But the winger has definitely shown glimpses of his potential, with that speed and trickery certain to cause defenders nightmares when he has had more time to settle into life in England.

Chelsea

No Europe for Chelsea

Chelsea fans will, of course, be disappointed not to be playing in Europe next season, with the Blues not landing a place in any European competition due to their really worrying Premier League campaign.

But this will free up plenty of time for the manager to work on things on the training ground and really see which players are up for the task, with the added bonus of not having to rotate the squad as much due to the smaller number of matches.
