Cadiz vs Villarreal Predicted Lineups – Can Villarreal Claim a Crucial Success?

Quique Setien’s Villarreal travel to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla for a game against Cadiz on Friday night. Both teams have picked up only one victory from the first three matches. However, such a run is a big disappointment for Villarreal, who have much higher ambitions coming into the new campaign. Both teams have overseen plenty of transfer activity in the summer and it may be a couple of weeks before finding the best combination within the new signings. Villarreal will be keen on getting a first away victory against Cadiz since 2014 in the Copa del Rey.

Cadiz vs Villarreal Predicted Lineups and News

Cadiz – Six Home Games without a Defeat?

Cadiz started the campaign with a victory against Deportivo Alaves but they have been able to pick up only one point since then. Admittedly, Cadiz have had a difficult run of fixtures with the team already playing Barcelona away from home. This is the fourth consecutive season in the top flight for Cadiz. After managing to finish clear of relegation trouble last season, the team might be starting to think of finishing closer towards the top half.

Team news: Cadiz

Cadiz come into the game with plenty of injury worries. The team will be without Fede San Emeterio, who is suspended following the red carpet up against Deportivo Alaves. Brian Ocampo is the long-term injury concern for the team due to a cruciate ligament injury. Jorge Mere, Victor Chust, and Sergi Guardiola are the rest of the names who will be on the treatment table for the home team. Due to the injuries and suspensions, it would not be a big surprise of Sergio goes with largely the same lineup.

Cadiz Predicted Lineups (3-5-2):

Jeremias Ledesma, Isaac Carcelen, Luis Hernandez, Fali, Javier Hernandez, Ivan Alejo, Gonzalo Escalante, Ruben Alcaraz, Darwin Machis, Roger, Christopher Ramos

Villarreal – Can Quique Setien’s Team Recover?

Villarreal have had a disappointing start to the new season. After narrowly missing out on the Champions League places last season, the Yellow Submarines would have been hoping for an impressive start but they have only picked up one win from first three games. However, the recent seven goal thriller with Barcelona could have gone anyway. Villarreal have had a busy summer with plenty of new arrivals. Manager Quique Setien will be hoping to hit a winning run at the earliest.

Team news: Villarreal

Villarreal were boosted by the return of Etienne Capoue in the last game against Barcelona. He is expected to continue in the same defensive role. The two major injury problems for the Yellow Submarines would be Alberto Moreno and Francis Coquelin. The latter is out the long-term following the cruciate ligament rupture. Meanwhile, Yeremi Pino is back from injuries and he is expected to feature in the game.

Villarreal Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):

Filip Joergensen, Juan Foyth, Raul Albiol, Jorge Cuenca, Alfonso Pedraza, Etienne Capoue, Daniel Parejo, Alejandro Baena, Gerard Moreno, Alexander Soerloth, Ben Brereton
