Brighton take on Luton Town on Saturday afternoon in what is all set up to be the biggest day in Luton Town’s recent history. The Hatters secured promotion to the Premier League via playoffs at the end of last season and they go into the new Premier League season with much of the same squad that got them there. The game is set to kick off at 15:00 UK time on Saturday, 11th of August.

Brighton were one of the best teams to watch last season thanks to the expansive style of play that Roberto de Zerbi employed when he took the reigns over from Graham Potter. They have made some shrewd signings this summer which could make them even better. Luton, on the other hand, go into the season with a very inexperienced squad which should make for interesting viewing.
Team news: Brighton
After a productive pre-season, Brighton go into the new Premier League season full of confidence and a clean bill of health. They have been busy in the transfer market, too, both in terms of incoming and outgoings.
One of their best players last season, Alexis Mac Allister, has departed for Liverpool while Moises Caicedo is rumoured to be on the verge of moving to Chelsea, too. It means that Brighton will set up with a new-look midfield against Luton Town which should make for interesting viewing after the security and flair that Mac Allister gave them.
In terms of new players, de Zerbi could hand a competitive debut to Joao Pedro who became the club’s record signing earlier this summer. The centre-forward, who starred for Watford in the Championship last season, could form a partnership with teenager, Evan Ferguson at the Amex.
Joao Pedro will be making his Brighton debut VS Luton tomorrow.

Brighton predicted lineup
Steele; Gross, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Gilmour, Dahoud; March, Pedro, Mitoma; Ferguson.
Team news: Luton Town
When Luton won the playoff final in June, many people expected them to hit the transfer market hard o try and get their squad Premier League-ready. Instead, the club have decided to put money into developing the stadium which has meant they have had to pinny-pinch in the transfer market.
As a result, manager Rob Edwards is expected to line up mostly with the same players who took the club to the promised land, including last season’s 20-goal man Carlton Morris and defensive rock, Tom Lockyer.
One man who the Luton faithful will be excited to see on Saturday afternoon is Ross Barkley, who has joined the club on a free transfer.
Luton Town predicted lineup
Kaminski; Andersen, Lockyer, Bell; Kabore, Mpanzu, Nakamba, Berry, Giles; Adebayo, Morris.
Will Moises Caicedo play?
Moises Caicedo has been the centre of one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer and his final destination is still undecided. The Ecuadorian is the subject of a £110m bid from Liverpool – which Brighton accepted – but he is holding out for Chelsea to match the offer as they are his preferred club.
Due to the uncertainty around his future, Caicedo certainly won’t feature for Brighton on Saturday afternoon and barring a dramatic turn of events, ever again.
