Brentford vs Tottenham Predicted Lineups and News

Before we go into more details regarding the Brentford vs Tottenham possible lineups we’ll give you the latest team news for each team and what that means for their overall strength. And if you can’t make it to the stadium don’t worry, you can always enjoy all the action on TV.

Team news: Brentford

Brentford enjoyed a great end to last season, won 5 of their last 6 Premier League games, and this saw them finish only 1 point behind Spurs in the final standings. The Bees played some very good attacking football and one of those 5 wins late in the last campaign was their 3-1 triumph exactly vs Spurs.

Brentford had a winless summer though, and failed to win any of their 5 friendlies. Also, the starting goalkeeper David Raya is about to leave the club and won’t be involved. There are serious problems in attack too with star striker Ivan Toney out injured and winger Frank Onyeka a fitness doubt.

In better news, the hero from the last clash between the sides in April with his second-half brace Bryce Mbeumo has recovered from a dead leg and he looks set to start.

The Bees are trying to stop a bad trend, they won only 2 of their opening games in the last 11 seasons.

Brentford Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):

Flekken – Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry – Jensen, Janelt, Damsgaard – Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade

Team news: Tottenham

Tottenham appointed the Australian coach Angel Postecoglou as their new head coach in the summer. He won the Scottish title with Celtic last term. Spurs looked good in the summer months and under Postecoglou they seem to have put behind them the disappointments of last season. The Lillywhites were scoring goals by the bucket full in friendlies.

However, as many expected the team’s talisman and all-time top goalscorer Harry Kane left the club on the eve of the new season.

Tottenham were prepared for this though and in general, Postecoglou prefers to use fluid and fast strikers. This should see Son and Richarlison enjoy playing under the Aussie.

Richarlison is tipped to become Tottenham’s new spearhead. He will be likely supported by the trio Maddison-Son-Kulusevski in a very fluid front 4.

The latest new signing Van de Ven is short on fitness and likely to miss. Gil and 2 fringe players are also not expected to feature due to injuries.

Tottenham Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):

Vicario – Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie – Bissouma, Hojbjerg – Kulusevski, Maddison, Son – Richarlison

Will Richarlison play for Tottenham?

Only days before the start of the new season rumours spread that Richarlison has sustained a bad injury in training. The striker himself denied all that and he declared himself fit and ready to go, so we can expect to see him leading the Lillywhites.
