Brentford vs Crystal Palace Predicted Lineups and News

Brentford – Can the Bees extend their strong start?

It has been a dream start for Brentford and manager Thomas Frank. Despite losing several key players, the bees have been able to adjust quickly to the new environment. The team has made a flying start and a return of five goals in the first two matches means that only Brighton have scored more goals than the Bees after the first two matches. The club are now preparing for a run of three home matches in the next four league encounters. This bodes well for a team that has suffered just one home league defeat since October.

Team news: Brentford

Ivan Toney misses out on this game because of a suspension. He is the only confirmed absentee because of suspension. Meanwhile, Josh Dasilva is unavailable for selection due to a hamstring injury. Dasilva will be on the sidelines for the next few weeks. Ben Mee will undergo a late fitness test – owing to a calf issue – to decide his participation in the game, but it is very unlikely that he will be available for the match on Saturday.

Brentford Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):

Mark Flekken, Aaron Hickey, Nathan Collins, Ethan Pinnock, Rico Henry, Vitaly Janelt, Christian Noergaard, Mathias Jensen, Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Kevin Schade

Crystal Palace – Hodgson targeting improvement from lacklustre performance

Crystal Palace had a very mediocre outing against London rivals Arsenal in the last match. The club might have made a winning start to the league campaign following the narrow 1-0 success over Sheffield United, but the loss against 10-men Arsenal at home is a disappointment. Roy Hodgson and his team still rely heavily on getting maximum points from the home matches. Selhurst Park has always been a difficult place for visiting teams and the trend appears to be continuing even in the 2023-24 season. Crystal Palace will view away points as a big bonus in the grand scheme of things.

Team news: Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson comes under the fixture with three players unavailable for selection. Michael Olise, Matheus Franca, and Will Hughes are three names who will be missing from action for the trip to Brentford. Olise still needs a few more weeks to come back from his thigh injury. Meanwhile, Franca continues to suffer from the lower back problem that has kept him from making an appearance in the Palace colours. Even though Will Hughes is expected to return to training within the next few days, this game comes a little too soon.

Crystal Palace Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):

Sam Johnstone, Joel Ward, Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell, C. Oumar Doucoure, Jefferson Lerma, Jordan Ayew, Eberechi Eze, Jeffrey Schlupp, Odsonne Edouard
