The World Cup was held in winter for the first time in history, right in the middle of the European season. It completely absorbed the attention of the fans around the world, but now it’s time to switch from national teams back to club football.
Of course, the main football “event” in December is Boxing Day, with all English leagues being played at the same time on the 26th December. Here are our Premier League Boxing Day tips!

Boxing Day Premier League Tips and Predictions
With the Boxing Day upon us, we selected a few Premier League games to offer our free betting tips for them, so check them out:
Leicester vs Newcastle – Under 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 (1.95)
Leicester City are gradually recovering from a disastrous start. In the last 5 matches of the Premier League, the “foxes” won 4 victories – and they did not concede a goal a single time. This breakthrough allowed Leicester to climb to 13th place in the standings. However, their attacking potential should not be overestimated. The reason is that Brendan Rodgers’ team scores a lot from free kicks. The average shot distance is 17 meters, second in the league. The accuracy of strikes from a distance is quite volatile. It is difficult to score a lot and consistently, relying only on free kicks and shots from distance.
Newcastle United are the biggest sensation in the Premier League. Before the World Cup break, Eddie Howe’s side were 10 unbeaten in a row and are just 2 points behind Manchester City. This is the longest unbeaten streak in the league. Newcastle lavishly implement standards and actively press. Key performers – forward Miguel Almiron and defensive midfielder Bruno Guimaraes – did not go to Qatar, so they are eager to play and their form has been incredible.
Leicester will have a lot of possession and try to create chances through control. Newcastle will rely on counterattacks: they will look for chances in pressing and in free space. Both sides have been exceptional defensively, so the first of our Premier League betting tips is an under 2.5 for this match.

Southampton vs Brighton – 1X Double Chance @ 8/13 (1.62)
Southampton are floundering in the relegation zone. Before the pause for the World Cup, the team suffered three defeats in a row: from Crystal Palace (0:1), Newcastle (1:4) and Liverpool (1:3). At home, Southampton won just one win and scored the least in the Premier League, conceding more than 1.5 goals per game. A big break could benefit head coach Nathan Jones. Southampton advanced to the round of 16 of the League Cup, beating Lincoln 2-1 at home.
Brighton went into the big break in 7th place, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference. But, if we take the last two months before the World Cup as a whole and not just the last few games, the performance of the Seagulls is less impressive: 2 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses with a negative goal difference. Last week, Brighton failed to qualify in the League Cup. They lost to the weak team of Charlton, despite dominance in possession and shooting. As a result, a goalless draw in regular time and a defeat in the penalty shootout. And the newly-minted world champion Alexis McAllister will not play for the guests. The coaching staff will give him a rest after an intense month in Qatar.
I believe that Southampton will gradually begin to gain home form. In head-to-head games, the “Saints” lost to today’s opponent only once out of 12 games. It will take some time for Brighton to rebuild their top players and reach their peak.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool – Liverpool to Win @ 4/6 (1.67)
We continue our Premier League Boxing Day tips with one of the more interesting games of this round. Despite the final defeat, Liverpool left a good impression of their game against City during the recent League Cup Round of 16. Judging by this match, Salah and Thiago Alcantara are in very good physical condition and ready to make a difference in any game. But Darwin Nunez, unfortunately for all the fans of the “Merseysiders”, cannot yet achieve a sufficient level of psychological self-confidence to realize more of the scoring chances that his teammates create.
Aston Villa are hardly ready to put up a serious fight against Liverpool right now and take away points from the favorite. Unai Emery was never known as one-game-wonder, on the contrary, he always needed a certain amount of time to build the football of his new team for himself , and preferably a transfer window, during which he could get players important for instilling a new style. Most likely, only towards the end of January we will see a new, more competitive Aston Villa.
In addition, this match, obviously, will be missed by the formally best goalkeeper of the past World Cup and one of the main newsmakers of recent days, Emiliano Martinez, who continues to actively celebrate his triumph and mock the defeated Kylian Mbappe.
In our opinion, taking into account all the circumstances, the shape and condition of the players, the bookmakers offer a fairly good odds for Liverpool to win and it would be almost a sin not to take advantage of their offer.

Arsenal vs West Ham – Arsenal to Win 8/15 (1.53)
Our final pick for this round’s Premier League Betting Tips is the late match of the day – Arsenal vs West Ham. Arsenal went on a break as the leader of the English Premier League, now they have 37 points and are 5 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City. If Arsenal continue like this, they could win the Premier League for the first time since the 2003/2004 season.
Mikel Arteta’s team has played 14 league matches, won 12, drawn 1 and lost 1. I also note that Arsenal conceded only 11 goals, the same number for Newcastle, and this is the best indicator in the league. The last official match was played more than a month ago, and during this time Arsenal managed to play 4 friendly games, there were victories against Lyon 3:0 and Milan 2:1, and they lost to Watford 2:4 and ” Juventus 0:2. Arsenal resume the championship with a home match, they need to start confidently in order to maintain a lead over Man City, especially since the opponent is quite in shape.
West Ham are having problems with both performance and results this season. They are now in 16th place in the Premier League. For them, the main goal is to keep their place in the Premier League, but it will not be easy to do so. In 15 matches, West Ham won only 4 times, there were also 2 draws and 9 defeats. Before the break, the Hammers lost three matches in a row, they lost to Manchester United 0:1, Crystal Palace 1:2 and Leicester 0:2. West Ham have difficulties in attack, they have only 12 goals in 15 matches, and they are unlikely to be able to distinguish themselves against the leader of the league.
Arsenal play at home, where they have 6 wins in 6 matches in the Premier League this season, and now they have excellent chances of scoring 3 points against one of the outsiders in the current season.
