Manchester United take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday with a depleted squad following a string of injuries and suspensions. As such the Bayern Munich vs Man Utd possible lineups are hard to predict as Erik Ten Hag may well have a few tricks up his sleeve as he looks to negotiate an extremely tricky period. The match is set to take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich and it will kick off at 20:00 UK time.

Bayern Munich v Man Utd predicted lineups and news

Man Utd have gotten off to a poor start in the Premier League and have already suffered three defeats, with the latest coming at Old Trafford against Brighton just four days ago. Bayern, on the other hand, are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga and are looking sharp. Both teams will be looking for victory on Wednesday, but if you offered Erik Ten Hag a point now, he would snap your hand off.

Bayern Munich team news

While Thomas Tuchel isn’t having to contend with as many injuries as his counterpart ahead of the fixture, the German does have a couple of issues that will be giving him a headache in the build-up.

The biggest question mark in the Bayern squad surrounds the fitness of Joshua Kimmich, who has been battling against an inflamed tendon for a couple of weeks. He first felt it on international duty with Germany and was then forced off in Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Leverkusen last Friday.

If Kimmich doesn’t make it, then Tuchel could opt for either Matthijs de Ligt or Noussair Mazraoui in midfield, although both men are more comfortable in defence. The most likely scenario would be a recall to the starting eleven for Konrad Laimer who would be a more natural fit alongside Leon Goretza in the engine room.

While Kimmich is a doubt, Jamal Musiala is fit again after a recent injury. The exiting youngster is expected to play behind Harry Kane on Wednesday night with Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry on either wing. Thomas Muller will be the danger man off the bench should Bayern need a goal in the second half.

Bayern Munich predicted lineup

lreich, Mazraoui, Upamecano, Kim, Davies, Goretzka, Laimer, Gnabry, Musiala, Sane, Kane

Man Utd team news

When it rains, it pours or at least that must be how Erik Ten Hag currently feels. His ever-growing injury list now stands at nine players while Jadon Sancho and Antony are unavailable due to off-the-field issues. All of that means Ten Hag is preparing a severely depleted squad for one of the biggest tests in football – Bayern Munich away.

Raphael Varane and Mason Mount were both pictured in full training on Tuesday morning back in Manchester but neither player has been risked. New signing, Sofyan Amrabat, and exciting youngster, Kobbie Mainoo, are also back in training but the clash with Bayern has also come too soon for them.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the latest player to pick up a serious injury which has left United with just two recognised full-backs in their first-team squad – Sergio Reguilon and Diogo Dalot. Harry Maguire has also pulled out which means Jonny Evans will be in line for an appearance should one of Linsadro Martinez or Victor Lindelof go down between now and kick-off.

Despite all that, United still have Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford fighting fit while Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho continue to excite.

Man Utd predicted lineup

Onana, Dalot, Martinez, Lindelof, Reguilon, Casemiro, McTominay, Fernandes, Garnacho, Hojlund, Rashford

Will Mason Mount play?

After signing for £50m in the summer, Mason Mount was hoping to hit the ground running in a Man Utd shirt but injury has derailed his start to life at Old Trafford. The England international has returned to training, however, he hasn’t been included in United’s travelling party for this one meaning he won’t feature against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
