However, the odds are against Freiburg as their record stands at 14 wins for Bayern from the last 20 matches. Further, Streich’s record against Bayern’s current coach, Thomas Tuchel is equally bad: he has only won 2 matches but lost 8 times so far. Only two draws for Freiburg and Streich against Bayern – this record does not speak favourably of Freiburg.
For Bayern a win is almost as vital as it would be for Freiburg. A win would see them go top of the league while a draw or even a defeat would not seriously hamper their title defense but instill hope among others that Bayern are not unbeatable despite their quality.
