Arteta will know all too well the threat that PSV can provide on their day, having been defeated 2-0 by Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s squad in October 2022 during the Europa League group stages.
Just a week prior to the defeat, the Gunners emerged victorious at the Emirates against the Dutch side, winning 1-0 thanks to a Granit Xhaka goal.
Arsenal will be without Xhaka for tomorrow night’s affair, just as PSV will be without Van Nistelrooy, with the club now managed by Peter Bosz, who has made an impressive start to life as the boss.
Team news: Arsenal
Arsenal broke their curse at Goodison Park on Sunday, winning 1-0 in their most recent game against Everton in the Premier League.
The win made it four wins from five for Arteta’s side, who have only dropped points to a draw against Fulham so far this season.

Leandro Trossard was the matchwinner on Merseyside, and could start as a result of his performance, particularly as the Gunners will be without star winger Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian was forced to withdraw before the half-hour mark against Everton due to a hamstring injury.
After being replaced by David Raya in goal on Sunday, Aaron Ramsdale could see his place in the starting eleven restored for the Champions League blockbuster.
Arsenal predicted lineup
Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Odegaard, Rice, Vieira, Saka, Jesus, Trossard
Team news: PSV
PSV have conceded just one goal in the Eredivisie this season, and currently sit top of the table on goal difference after winning their opening four games of the league campaign.
Like Arsenal, PSV were struck with injury in their most recent fixture against NEC, which ended in a 4-0 win for the hosts.
Winger Noa Lang was forced to cut his match short due to an injury, however has travelled with the squad to London, with there still a slight doubt over the extent of his fitness.
A familiar face could be fielded at the Emirates for his debut, as Southampton loanee Armel Bella-Kotchap signed for the Dutch side in the window on a season-long deal from the Saints.
PSV predicted lineup
Benitez, Teze, Ramalho, Bella-Kotchap, Dest, Schouten, Veerman, Bakayoko, Saibari, Lozano, De Jong
Will Gabriel Jesus start for Arsenal?
Gabriel Jesus is yet to start a game in the 2023/24 season with Arsenal, as the Brazilian missed the beginning of the campaign due to a recurring knee injury.
The 26-year-old is seasoned in the Champions League, having already scored 20 times in the competition during his time at Manchester City.
Considering PSV’s rigid defence, Arteta may opt to start the striker in place of Eddie Nketiah, with his energy and skill a prominent factor to how the Gunners could break the Dutch side down.
