Arsenal predicted lineup vs Sevilla: Relentless Rice key

Our Arsenal predicted lineup vs Sevilla will feature many players that started in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Gunners lost 2-1 to RC Lens in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) last time out, and so will be looking to avoid defeat in Seville on Tuesday night.

Sevilla vs Arsenal Champions League team news

Arsenal appear to have no new injury issues ahead of their trip to Sevilla, as William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard all featured against Chelsea, despite prior fitness concerns. Fabio Vieira was left out of the squad for tactical reasons, while Aaron Ramsdale missed out because of the birth of his child.

Both will be expected to return to the squad, while Jurrien Timber is the only long-term absentee. Sevilla picked up no fresh injuries in their 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in La Liga on Saturday, and so will be expected to name a strong squad.

Arsenal predicted lineup – 4-3-3

Raya – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu – Partey, Rice, Odegaard – Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

Arsenal key players – Our top three

Declan Rice – A key player already

Declan Rice stood up when his team needed him on Saturday, as his goal got Arsenal back into the game against Chelsea, which they then went on to draw after being 2-0 down.

He has so often put in Man of the Match (MOTM) performances since joining from West Ham United this summer, and his experience with tough European nights, which saw him lift the UEFA Europa Conference League Trophy last season, could be key in Arsenal getting back to winning ways in the UCL.

Thomas Partey – Crucial when fit

Thomas Partey is a crucial part of Arsenal’s midfield when he can stay fit. The Ghanaian did not play against Chelsea, and the Blues found it too easy to bypass Jorginho and create chances. His minutes have been managed after a recent injury, but he would certainly add some steel in midfield in what is a tricky trip to Seville.

Nonetheless, there is no doubt that Partey has quality, as it was his lobbed pass that eventually led to Arsenal’s winner against Manchester City before the international break. Only Rice has averaged more passes and long balls per game than him in Arsenal’s midfield in the Premier League this season, while no Gunners midfielder averages more dribbles than him per match.

Takehiro Tomiyasu – Defensive warrior

Oleksandr Zinchenko was taken off at half-time against Chelsea, as he struggled defensively and was booked. Tomiyasu was his replacement, and offers more defensive stability at left-back.

The Japan international plays as a centre-back for his country, as he did during the international break, and started against Lens in Arsenal’s last European away encounter. Thus, Mikel Arteta could do the same against Sevilla.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Sevilla – The Final Word

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from what was a poor performance against Chelsea in truth, and they were lucky to gain a point in the end. They also lost their last UCL clash against Lens, and so will want a win in Seville to retake charge of the group.

However, Sevilla will be difficult opponents, having earned a hard-fought draw against Madrid on Saturday with an impressive display, so the Gunners will have to be at their best.
