Carlos Mac Allister, the father of in-demand Brighton star Alexis, has revealed that his son will play for “another club” next season as rumours linking the midfielder with a move away from the Seagulls begin to intensify.
Alexis Mac Allister is thought to be on the radar of a number of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with Albion reportedly preparing themselves for a bidding war for one of their prized assets.

With speculation rife, Mac Allister has been tipped by many to seal a big-money switch to one of English football’s giants before the start of the 2023/24 campaign, though his father Carlos added fuel to the fire this week in a revealing interview with Puro Boca, a website dedicated to Argentinean club, Boca Juniors.
“Normally, the next transfer window will find him playing for another club,” Carlos told the outlet.
“We don’t know which one, the talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team in July.”
The quotes should be music to the ears of a number of clubs as well as their supporters with Mac Allister currently one of the most coveted young players in the Premier League.
Mac Allister’s reputation soars
Mac Allister had been turning heads with his superb displays for Brighton over the past two seasons, though his performances at the World Cup in Qatar sent his reputation skyrocketing.
The midfielder, who turned 24 on Christmas Eve, was a crucial cog in the Argentinean machine that went on to lift the World Cup at the end of 2022, and his efforts on the biggest stage would have convinced his suitors of his quality.
According to the latest gossip, just about every top name in England would be interested in signing the World Cup winner, and Mac Allister will likely have his pick from a number of possible destinations in July.
Who is battling it out for Mac Allister’s signature?
Liverpool, who recently cooled their interest in Jude Bellingham, are in the market for midfield reinforcements and Brighton pair Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo are believed to be on their list of ideal candidates.
Current Premier League leaders Arsenal are also thought to be huge admirers of Mac Allister, while Tottenham are also believed to have lodged an interest in the playmaker.
Big spenders Chelsea also have the South American on their shortlist for the summer, while Manchester United are also rumoured to be weighing up a potential deal to bring Mac Allister to Old Trafford as part of Erik ten Hag’s rebuild.
The versatile Mac Allister has already scored eight times in the Premier League for Brighton this season and the Argentina international also ranks first at the club for average shots per game (2.5).
