The game is scheduled for Monday, August 28th and will be played at King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Mecca. The kick-off time is 19:00 GMT. Now, let’s look at all the team news and also at our Al Wehda vs Al Ittihad predicted lineups.

Al Wehda vs Al Ittihad Predicted Lineups and News

Before we go into more details regarding the Al Wehda vs Al Ittihad possible lineups we’ll give you the latest team news for each team and what that means for their overall strength.

Team news: Al Wehda

Al Wehda defeated Al Tai 3-0 away from home last Thursday to make it back-to-back wins with 3 goals scored in each. Coach Donis was very happy with the display and the 6 goals scored in 2 games after a narrow 0-1 defeat was registered to open the season.

Al Wehda don’t have big names in their ranks but they have some of the most talented Saudi Arabian ones. Atiah is the national team’s goalkeeper. Hawsawi is also an excellent full-back who last season had 11 assists. Al Eisa also caught the eye with his 1 goal and 1 assist already.

Nigerian striker Ighalo was only just signed and on Thursday he made his debut off the bench and scored straight away. Now he should be trusted from the off and form a formidable partnership up front with the Brazilian Anselmo.

Al Wehda Predicted Lineups (4-4-2):

Atiah – Al Muwallad, El Yamiq, Al-Hafith, Hawsawi – Noor, Al-Hejji, Fajr, Al Eisa – Anselmo, Ighalo

Team news: Al Ittihad

Al Ittihad continued their perfect start to the season with a routine 4-0 away win vs Al Riyadh on Thursday. Benzema scored his first goal for the club in that match but after the game reports emerged of him having a heated argument with coach Jose Jesus.

Considering that Benzema is the team’s big star and that Al Ittihad are making a perfect start to the season it seems likely that Jesus and Benzema will quickly settle the issue behind closed doors and move on.

Al Ittihad have no injury issues and despite the congested schedule they are expected to trust the same lineup if no last-minute problems occur.

Al Ittihad Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):

Grohe – Al-Olayan, Hawsawi, Sharahili, Alshanqeeti – Kante, Fabinho – Romarinho, Hamdallah, Coronado – Benzema

Will Karim Benzema play for Al Ittihad?

After the Thursday match, there were videos online of a heated argument between manager Jesus and Benzema. We don’t see this being a major problem though and we expect that Benzema will start again. He will be hungry for goals too after netting his maiden Saudi Pro League goal on Thursday.
