Al Nassr coach Rudi Garcia reveals his only objective for Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr head coach Rudi Garcia has revealed his ambition for new signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Frenchman Garcia, who previously managed the likes of Roma, Marseille and Lyon, wants to make his new superstar happy.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabian club on Friday after leaving Premier League giants Manchester United following a controversial interview in which he criticised many aspects of life at the English side.

The 37-year-old is reportedly set to receive the biggest football salary in history, with his £177m-per-year deal running until 2025.

Al Nassr coach wants to make Ronaldo happy

Ronaldo joins Al Nassr after spending one and a half seasons at Old Trafford, in what was his second spell at the club. The iconic forward previously spent six years at Man United before his mega money move to Real Madrid in 2009.

He joins the likes of former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina and ex-Bayern Munich man Luis Gustavo at Al Nassr. Cameroon 2022 World Cup hero Vincent Aboubakar also plays for the Saudi Arabian club.

Head coach Garcia is now focused on making his latest superstar happy, as reported by BBC Sport.

“In my life, I’ve seen that great players like Cristiano are the simplest to manage, because there’s nothing I can teach him,” said Garcia.

“My goal, my objective for Cristiano is to make him happy. I want him to enjoy playing with Al Nassr and winning with Al Nassr.”

Thousands of fans greet football superstar

Ronaldo was greeted by thousands of overjoyed fans of his new team at his unveiling, which came after a media conference in which he answered questions from a club official, but not from reporters.

The Man United legend stated that he had offers from clubs in Europe, Brazil, the US, Australia and his native Portugal, but ended up choosing Al Nassr.

“I gave my word for this club,” said Ronaldo. “I won everything, I played for the most important clubs in Europe and now it is a new challenge in Asia.

“As nobody knows, I can say now I had many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, Australia, the US, even in Portugal, many clubs tried to sign me.”

Unique Ronaldo ready to make his debut

Ronaldo also touched on his jaw-dropping contract at his new club, stating that such a unique player deserves such a unique contract.

He added that he is now ready to step onto the pitch for the first time for Al Nassr, with several odds available on what Ronaldo may achieve on his club debut.

The nine-time Saudi Pro League champions currently sit top of the league, winning eight of their 11 matches so far this season.

Al Nassr take on Al-Ta’ee on Thursday, with their opponents currently sitting seventh in the league table, which comprises 16 teams overall.

Brazilian attacker Talisca, who also plays for Al Nassr, tops the scoring charts with nine goals, followed by ex-Man United striker Odion Ighalo, who has eight.

“This contract is unique but I’m a unique player, so for me it’s normal,” said Ronaldo.

“I know the league is very competitive, I saw many games. I hope to play after [Wednesday] if the coach thinks there’s a chance. I’m ready to keep playing football.”
