Al-Ettifaq predicted lineup vs Al-Riyadh – Brilliant Dembele to get Commandos firing

Our Al-Ettifaq predicted lineup vs Al-Riyadh focuses on the superb in-form Moussa Dembele who will look to get Steven Gerrard’s side back to winning form in the Saudi Pro League in their trip to the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.

The Commandos desperately need a win to keep themselves from permanently falling out of the Saudi Pro League title race.

Al-Ettifaq Predicted Lineup vs Al-Riyadh

Al-Ettifaq vs Al-Riyadh Saudi Pro League team news

Steven Gerrard should be pleased that none of his players picked up any injury problems during the international break. Jordan Henderson featured for England (and got booed) during the break, but he should be fit enough to play at the weekend.

The English gaffer is currently under pressure to get his side back to winning ways. Al-Ettifaq suffered a shock loss against Al Fateh before the international break and drew the league game before that. More points dropped can potentially signal a premature end to their title aspirations and fall them behind the top-4 place as well.

Predicted Lineup

Pau Victor (GK), Radhi Al Otaibi, Jack Hendry, Marcel Tisserand, Abdullah Al-Khateeb, Jordan Henderson, Giorginio Wijnaldum, Ali Hazazi, Robin Quaison, Demarai Gray, Moussa Dembele

Al-Ettifaq Predicted Lineup v Al-Riyadh – Our top three

Moussa Dembele – French goal machine keen on maintaining scoring spree

Moussa Dembele is on a mission to close in on Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot race, having scored seven goals for Al-Ettifaq so far. He’s leading the Commandos’ frontline in an inspired fashion, being extremely clinical in converting chances.

The Frenchman is likely to be marked tightly by Belgian defender Dino Arslanagić in the Al-Riyadh clash and be hassled with aggressive challenges. However, Dembele is flying high on confidence and being a menace with his movement and finishing ability – which he looks to use to score more goals and help end his side’s winless run.

Robin Quaison – Tricky winger likely to improve goal threat

Swedish forward Robin Quaison started the season superbly with two goals in the first two matches for Al-Ettifaq. However, his form has slightly dipped after that and he aims to fix that. Quaison is a quick, incisive winger who often sneaks into promising scoring areas.

He’ll need to be smart to outwit Al-Riyadh left-back Alin Toșca and leave him in the dust. Quaison has to be more accurate with his final product and nail his crossing delivery to create big chances. Moreover, he also has to be decisive with his finishing to ensure the Commandos get a big win.

Jordan Henderson –  Midfield machine eager to lead from the front

Despite getting criticism from the England faithful. Jordan Henderson remains devoted to helping Gerrard’s side to success. But the ex-Liverpool captain needs to tap into his leadership qualities to help motivate his teammates and get back to their best.

Henderson has to be more energetic with moving the ball forward swiftly and also looking to create bigger chances. He’ll look to be a machine in midfield, covering a lot of ground and marshalling the Commandos forward to outwit Al-Riyadh and break their winless run.

Will Mohammed Al Kuwaykibi start vs Al-Riyadh?

Experienced Saudi Arabia winger Mohammed Al Kuwaykibi got an assist in his side’s loss to Al Fateh but unfortunately came out on the losing side. He remains behind Quaison in the pecking order and is likely to start on the bench in this game.

Al-Ettifaq Predicted Lineup vs Al-Riyadh – The final word

Al-Ettifaq moved far away from the Saudi Pro League title race by failing to win their last two games. Gerrard needs to use his experience to get players motivated and energized in order to get a major victory against Al-Riyadh. Failing to win for the third game in a row against considerably weaker opponents can be a damning indictment of the players and the manager’s ability.
