5 Leicester City players who could leave if Foxes are relegated from Premier League

Leicester City have not had their best Premier League season by some margin, with the Foxes in real danger of being relegated to the Championship.

If relegation is their fate, there will no doubt be a handful of Leicester players who will force through a summer exit in order to continue playing top flight football.

5 Leicester City players who could leave this summer

James Maddison

The player sitting at the very top of the list of Leicester players who could leave this summer is James Maddison, with the talented midfielder having attracted attention from some of the biggest clubs in England for some time now.

His loyalty to his current club, however, has shone through, but it will definitely be time for him to leave if Leicester are relegated to the Championship. The likes of Tottenham and Newcastle United have both been strongly linked with the Foxes star man, who can undoubtedly thrive at a high-profile club.

Harvey Barnes

Harvey Barnes is another who could have left the club in recent times but decided to stay on and help them get back to their best. But again, if the Foxes go down, Barnes deserves to remain in the division and ply his trade at a top side, with both Newcastle and Tottenham once again reportedly in the running for his signature.

The 25-year-old is definitely one of the most dangerous wingers in the Premier League on his day, with the attacker on double figures for goals this season. He will want to improve his assists tally, but that can be achieved at a club fighting for trophies rather than for relegation.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Another attacker who has proven his worth time and again in the top flight is Kelechi Iheanacho, who showed his desire to play regular football by leaving Manchester City and joining Leicester all those years ago.

But the minutes haven’t always been readily available given the presence of the likes of Jamies Vardy and Patson Daka. However, Iheanacho doesn’t need long on the pitch to show he knows how to find the back of the net as easily as the very top strikers in the Premier League.

Jamie Vardy

And speaking of the top strikers in the Premier League, Jamie Vardy’s name can still be dropped into the conversation. It’s been a quiet few years for the iconic figure, but he has proven lately that he still has the golden touch in front of goal with two recent strikes.

At 36 years old, it won’t be a top side that he could move to, but all the clubs that are in the bottom half of the table could do much worse than either starting with the experienced Vardy leading their line, or indeed bringing him off the bench when a late goal is required.

Leicester

Youri Tielemans

Another Leicester ace who has attracted constant attention over the years is midfielder Youri Tielemans, who will definitely be on the move this summer if his current club go down, with the player potentially sealing a switch to a top-class side.

The Belgian has his critics, but he has proven his worth time and again for the Foxes, and with his contract expiring this summer, he is certain to be on the move. Where he goes, however, remains unknown.
