Man Utd have come on leaps and bounds under manager Erik ten Hag, with the Red Devils on course to return to the Champions League under the Dutchman.
They currently sit joint-third with Newcastle in the Premier League table on 66 points, in what has been an impressive season overall for the Manchester outfit.
With just three matches remaining, a top four finish should be secured, but Ten Hag will undoubtedly look to strengthen his squad this summer in order to climb the table next time around.
It remains to be seen exactly what areas the manager will focus on this summer, but he will most definitely seek to bring in both experienced players and some exciting youngsters.
Such strengthening will also mean plenty of exits from Man Utd in the upcoming transfer window as the boss looks to build a balanced squad.
3 Man Utd players who could leave this summer
Contents
Harry Maguire
One of the first players out of the door at Man Utd at the end of the season could be centre-back Harry Maguire, with the defender finding it very hard to land a starting role this season given the fine form of regular duo Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
With the 2026 World Cup not too far away, Maguire has an England spot to worry about, meaning he could seek regular minutes elsewhere, with the defender certainly capable of strengthening the defence of a club perhaps lower down the table.
Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay is another who has had to fight for minutes this season given the presence of other players in his position, namely Casemiro and Fred. The midfielder has given his all when handed the opportunity, and has proven both his defensive and attacking abilities.
Such characteristics should see plenty of clubs battling for his signature should he be on the move this summer, with Newcastle the highest-profile side linked with the Scotland international.
David de Gea
Finally, Spanish veteran David de Gea could also be heading for a summer exit from Old Trafford, with the goalkeeper coming under fire in recent times after a handful of high-profile mistakes between the sticks.
Man Utd could turn to Brentford ace David Raya ahead of the new campaign, with the Bees number one looking increasingly likely of leaving West London this summer. De Gea is undoubtedly a Man Utd legend, but it may be time for Ten Hag to begin looking to the future in this area on the pitch.
Man Utd boss seeking strong finish
Having enjoyed a strong run not so long ago, Man Utd have been slowing down in recent weeks, but it seems they have just about done enough to make an exciting return to Champions League football.
The Red Devils have an away test against Bournemouth up next, with that fixture followed by home meetings with West London outfits Chelsea and Fulham.
There is, of course, also the small matter of the FA Cup final against fierce rivals Man City still to come, with that clash taking place at Wembley at the beginning of June.
