Baskonia vs Zalgiris Kaunas prediction and odds

Both Baskonia and Zalgiris lost on Tuesday and the teams will feel pressure now to avoid a 0-2 outcome from the first double-week of the season. Baskonia are 1-2 so far, while Zalgiris are 2-1 after suffering their first defeat in Madrid earlier this week. Who can get back to the winning path now?

Baskonia vs Zalgiris – game predictions

Below are our Baskonia vs Zalgiris predictions. You can find more EuroLeague predictions here.

Prediction 1: Baskonia over 82.5 points @ 8/11 (1.73)

With our first free betting tip, we back Baskonia to score at least 83 points in this match. The Spaniards scored over 90 points in their last 2 home matches vs Zalgiris. They also scored 87 or more points in 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions.

Prediction 2: Edgaras Ulanovas over 3.5 rebounds @ 4/5 (1.80)

Our second prediction backs Zalgiris’ forward Edgaras Ulanovas to grab at least 4 rebounds in this match. Ulanovas had 4 or more rebounds in every one of the 3 EuroLeague games so far. He’s averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.

Due to an injury to the other main power forward Butkevicius it is expected that Ulanovas will again play around 30 minutes. This amount of time on the court should be enough to see him go over his rebound spread for the fourth game in a row.

These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Baskonia vs Zalgiris preview – which team will bounce back after both lost on Tuesday?

It has been the home advantage that determined these matches in recent years. All of the last 6 H2Hs, all in the EuroLeague, had been won by the home team – 3 wins each.

Baskonia news, injuries, and starting lineups

Baskonia struggled offensively in their first home match of the EuroLeague on Tuesday. Despite leading after 3 periods Baskonia never opened a solid lead when Bayern Munich paid them a visit and in the end, this proved costly. The game was lost 68-76 with Baskonia scoring just 6 points in the final 10 minutes.

Despite playing well so far Baskonia won just once and they need to be better. This is especially valid for late in games with Baskonia losing the final period in all 3 EuroLeague matches so far.

The good news is that coach Pennaroya has no injury issues so he can rely on his best squad for this game.

Zalgiris news, injuries, and starting lineups

Zalgiris recorded two dramatic and mostly lucky wins in their first two games. The Lithuanians eventually ran out of luck on Tuesday when they were soundly beaten in Madrid by defending champions Real. Zalgiris continue to shoot the ball well despite this defeat though. They remain the only team to have shot over 40% from beyond the arc in every EuroLeague game so far.

The important role player Butkevicius threatens to miss the game injured. This shouldn’t be a major issue with the impressive in the first few rounds veteran Rolands Smits preferred to start right now anyway.
