Mirra Andreeva vs Coco Gauff – Match Predictions
Coco Gauff to win
Gauff is only 19 years old but she is the more experienced player in this match. Last year she reached the final which speaks enough of the quality of play she has on clay. Andreeva is only 16, and she has lost only 6 games in total in the previous two rounds. This will definitely be a tough battle with both players being under pressure given the circumstances. At the end, Gauff will be the one who will prevail and move on to the next round.
Over 21.5 games
Both players are in great shape and Andreeva will not go out without a fight despite the fact that this will be her sixth match of the tournament. She has a great serve just like Gauff and this will be a long battle that will go over 21.5 games.
Mirra Andreeva vs Coco Gauff Preview
Gauff was the sensation at Roland Garros last year and now she is facing a player that may be the next sensation in the women’s tennis.
Mirra Andreeva is by far the youngest player still in the tournament with 16 years of age. The Russian is enjoying her best career ranking at no. 143. Andreeva has still not lost a set in the five matches at Roland Garros including the qualifiers. In the qualifying rounds, she went past Polina Kudermetova, Emiliana Arango and Camila Osorio. Her dominance did not stop there, as she defeated Alison Riske by 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round and Diane Parry, 6-1, 6-2 in the second round. Andreeva won two titles this season at lower level tournaments in Chiasso and Belinzona.
The last year’s French Open finalist, Gauff is ranked at no. 6 at the moment, two spots lower than her career best. The 19-year-old is 21-8 for the season and 5-3 on clay. In the opening round of the tournament, Gauff defeated Rebeka Masarova 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. In the next one, the American had no problems against Julia Grabher winning by 6-2, 6-3. Gauff’s best result this season was winning the title in Auckland at the beginning of the year.
