Kelsey Plum contract, salary, net worth – is she also a coach?

One of the most efficient guards in women’s basketball Kelsey Plum is destined to be a star during the 2023 WNBA Finals. Plum’s career and personal life have been going from strength to strength recently. She is gunning for her second consecutive WNBA title and the two-time All-Star has her imminent future secured too with a recent contract extension. So what is Kelsey Plum’s salary?

Kelsey Plum’s salary – is she also earning money as part of a coaching staff?

The 29-year-old Kelsey was selected as the number one overall pick in the 2017 Draft by the San Antonio Stars, who subsequently became the Las Vegas Aces. Plum proved her value for the franchise straight away and she was voted in the WNBA All-Rookie Team in her first year.

Current contract’s full breakdown

Back in 2020, Kelsey Plum signed a 3-year extension worth $423,250 that was supposed to be running until the end of 2023. However, in July 2022 Kelsey Plum’s contract was forfeited after 2 of the 3 years and instead, she signed an improved 2-year contract with the Aces.

Her current contract will give her exactly $200,000 for each of the 2 years and it runs until the end of 2024.

Part of the Arkansas Razorbacks coaching staff

In 2020 the the University of Arkansas added Plum to the Razorbacks’ women’s basketball team’s coaching staff. During that year she served as a graduate assistant for the Razorbacks.

Kelsey Plum’s salary and other earnings

Kelsey Plum’s current salary as a WNBA player is $200,000 per year. Between 2017 and 2019 for three consecutive off-seasons, Kelsey also played in Europe. In all 3 years, she represented Fenerbahce in Turkey and it is believed that she has been paid around $100,000 for each of those 3 seasons abroad.

She also played for Galatasaray, again in Turkey, in 2022 where she is believed to have been on a 6-month $120,000 contract.

Ever since joining the WNBA Kelsey Plum has had a long-term endorsement deal with Nike. However, shortly after becoming a WNBA champion in 2022 Plum also signed an endorsement deal with Under Armour. It is believed that she has made over $1,4 million from those endorsements.

Kelsey Plum’s net worth

Kelsey Plum’s net worth as of March 2023 is around $5 million. This is nowhere near the net worth of her husband, Kelsey married in March 2023, who is a professional NFL player and we look at their relationship in more detail here.

Kelsey Plum continues to be a loud advocate for better pay for the WNBA players and she is one of the many talented WNBA stars that can rarely afford to have a break as in the off-season she often goes to play in Europe. Unfortunately, as things stand Plum and many others have to do that while their male counterparts in the NBA enjoy much different salaries and contracts.
