Now that we’ve all had a moment to calm down from the 2023 Grand National, we can finally take a look at the result. Of course, the official standings are now in, and it was Corach Rambler who stole the victory in style. Yet while he came in as the race favourite, there were others who ran a great race too. That’s what I will be taking you through right here – the horses who finished in the ‘place’ region.
Naturally, the place region was a little wider for the Grand National compared to other races. And because of the scale of this race, most bookmakers were paying out on the first six finishers rather than the first 4 or 5. So, exactly which horses did snatch the 2-6 finishing positions? Take a look below.
Who Placed in the 2023 Grand National?
Without wasting any time, you can see the exact order for the 2-6 finishing positions below:
- 2nd – Vanillier – 20/1
- 3rd – Gillar Du Mesnil – 10/1
- 4th – Noble Yeats – 10/1
- 5th – The Big Dog – 12/1
- 6th – Born By The Sea – 50/1
As you can see from the confirmed finishing positions here, most of the relative favourites stepped up today. This is especially true for Gillar Du Mesnil and Noble Yeats, who was heavily backed in the ante-post markets over the last 24 hours. So if you backed any of these five horses in the enhanced each-way markets, you will have at least gained a payout on your wager.
At the same time, you no doubt had plenty of fun watching these results come in – assuming you tuned in for the race. And while these horses finished inside the top six, I feel that Corach Rambler was a truly deserving winner. None of these horses could match his stamina today, and he ran a simply flawless race.
So the fact that these horses even came close to Corach Rambler, for me, is a solid achievement in itself.
