Moving day at the Open Championship hosted by Royal Liverpool Golf Club was headlined by Brian Harman not wavering under pressure and maintaining his lead at the top.

The University of Georgia product shot a 2-under par round of 69 to move to 12-under for the championship and leads Cameron Young (7-under) and Jon Rahm (6-under).

Should Harman falter, there is also a pack of five players, headlined by Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood, seven strokes back at 5-under.

Highlights from Saturday

The following section will take you through key events from the third round.

Harman keeps hold of the lead

The 36-year-old got off to a rocky start with two bogeys in his first four holes but bounced back with four birdies and 10 pars over the remaining 14 holes.

The Savannah, Georgia, native has played well in all aspects but has been on fire with his putter. He’s made all 44 putts from inside 10 feet throughout the first three days.

The two-time PGA Tour winner is seeking his first major championship. His last victory on tour came in May 2017 at the Wells Fargo Championship when he defeated Dustin Johnson and Pat Perez by a stroke.

Jon Rahm shoots the low round of the day

The World No. 2 barely snuck into the weekend but showed on Saturday why he’s a two-time major champion as he carded an 8-under 63. Rahm’s bogey-free round began with two birdies on the front nine, followed by six on the back (shot 30).

The Barrika, Spain native etched his name into the history book as the 63 was the lowest round ever recorded in an Open at Royal Liverpool.

Cameron Young is in contention again at the Open

A year ago, Young finished in solo-second and lost to Cameron Smith by a stroke at St. Andrews. This time around, he’ll have another chance at the Claret Jug as he sits alone, five strokes behind Harman.

The Wake Forest product shot a 5-under 66 (six birdies compared to one bogey) to put himself in the final pairing on Sunday. This is the second time in three weeks the 26-year-old finds himself near the top of the leaderboard after co-leading the John Deere Classic after 54 holes two weeks ago.

Young is seeking his inaugural PGA Tour and major win. He was highly touted entering 2022-2023 to break through but has performed subpar for most of the season.

Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka continue to slide

The World No. 1, Scheffler, and five-time major winner, Koepka, were expected to put up a fight this week but continued to play poorly on Saturday. While most of the top players moved up the leaderboard, Scheffler and Koepka recorded rounds of 1-over par (72) to fall to 4-over for the tournament and in a tie for 63rd.
