Highlights from Round Two
The following section contains the key moments and videos from the second round.
Hodges goes low again to maintain the solo lead
The 28-year-old is in search of his first tour win and is on the right path after his bogey-free round of 64. Hodges’ scorecard, which is four strokes clear of the field, featured seven birdies, including one on the 18th hole just after the horn blew to suspend play due to darkness.
The University of Alabama product’s best finish on tour came at the 2022 American Express, where he finished in a tie for third.

Can Finau defend his title?
2022 3M Open winner Finau posted a 5-under 66 for the second-straight day to get reach a double-figure under-par score and trails by five shots.
The Salt Lake City, Utah native closed both the front nine and back nine with four birdies in a row for a pair of 33s.
If the six-time title holder on the PGA Tour were to triumph this week, he’d become the first player ever to win back-to-back at the 3M Open.

Justin Thomas misses yet another cut
The two-time major champion is having a season to forget. After shooting 69 and 71 the first two days, Thomas missed the cut by two strokes and will have to put on quite the performance at next week’s Wyndham Championship if he wants to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The top 70 players in the FedEx Cup Standings will reach the playoffs, and Thomas sat at 78th, entering the 3M Open. The University of Alabama product has missed the cut in five of his last seven starts and hasn’t won since the 2022 PGA Championship.
Household names fail to reach the weekend
Sungjae Im and Cameron Young were among the betting favorites (14/1 to 16/1, depending on the bookmaker) to claim the trophy but were unable to put circles on their scorecards at the birdie fest.
Young, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 15, posted rounds of 69 and 71 to miss the cut. A late birdie on No. 18 proved to be just a consolation after many players went low throughout the day, moving the cut line to four under.
Im, who was highly touted after a second-place finish in last year’s edition, shot an even-par 72 Friday and finished the tournament at 1-under.
