PAK vs SA – Top Pakistan batsman – Babar Azam: 3/1 (4.0)
Babar Azam might be spearheading a struggling Pakistani side but he has shown signs of improved form. Even in their last defeat to Afghanistan, he top-scored for the side and we can expect something similar here against a bowling attack that could make life difficult for most sub-par batsmen.
PAK vs SA – South Africa to win AND Both teams to score 250+: 11/10 (2.1)
South Africa have the quality to take down any team in this tournament but more importantly the two sides should get their batting going as well given their more recent form. South Africa have been scoring 300+ totals for fun while Pakistan is slowly looking like they are batting better than they did against India.
Our cricket world cup 2023 predictions – what we cover
During the 2023 Cricket World Cup we will be updating the above section with daily cricket predictions and odds from the matches played on that day. Below is a lowdown of what we are planning to cover in this section.
Betting markets
There are multiple cricket markets which can give immense value to the punter. It is not always necessary to go with the main markets like, say, the match winner. In the section below we look at the various World Cup cricket markets that you could look to go for.
Tournament outright
Ten teams are participating in the 2023 World Cup and you could bet on which side could go on to win the title.
Top Tournament Batsman/Bowler
With every batsman and bowler potentially featuring a minimum of nine and up to 11 matches in the 2023 World Cup, betting on which player would end the tournament as the top batsman (most runs) and top bowler (most wickets) could be a difficult but interesting call to make.
Individual match winner
While this market might not have the best odds, especially in matches between some of the top sides and the lower-ranked ones, this one needs a mention because there are some other matches between two evenly matched sides. And it’s in such matches one could find an edge.
Highest Opening Partnership
This is a way more interesting market than the individual match winner because even if a high-ranked team is playing a low-ranked team, on a given day the winner of the highest opening partnership could be reversed. Allows for better returns than betting on match winners.
Top Match Batsman/Bowler
Much like the market for the top batsman or bowler in the World Cup, there is a market for the top batsman and bowler in a match too. And to go with that, there are markets for top batsman and bowler from each of the two teams playing as well.
Other markets
There are a few others which we could also cover depending on whether they look attractive for the day. These include First Innings 100, Team of Top Batsman and Player of the Match among others.
Cricket World Cup betting tips – how we create them
We have a step-by-step process which we look at before giving out our best bets for the day during the Cricket World Cup. In the section below, we explain how we come to a particular conclusion while offering our tips.
Form & Ranking
While a team’s ranking isn’t always the most helpful tool, it indicates how the team has been doing over the last few months. To add to that we look at the team’s form over their last few matches because at times a high-ranked team could well be going through a form crisis or vice-versa, and we take that into account as well.
Head to head
This is an important parameter but we don’t just look at the overall head-to-head but also the head-to-head over the last year or over the last 10 matches or in a particular country.
Host country
This is covered to a small extent in the head-to-head section but different countries prepare their pitches differently and batsmen and bowlers and even teams of specific skill sets do well in certain countries while they may not be at their best elsewhere.
Statistics
We dig into the various statistics associated with players and teams, including runs scored, batting and bowling averages, strike rate and other aspects of the game. Not only that, we look to give some context to it that could help us give more accurate results.
