Joseph Parker vs Jack Massey Prediction and Odds: Heavyweight Boxing

Manchester will receive a feast of boxing on Saturday night, as seven different boxing bouts go down at the AO Arena.

While this may not be the main event, or even the co-main event, boxing fans will certainly be looking forward to the fifth clash of the night. Heavyweight Joseph Parker looks to reclaim form after a recent loss, while home favourite Jack Massey is stepping up to the heavyweight class for the first time in his career. We look at the best bets to place on this bout ahead of Saturday’s first bell.

These odds from William Hill were correct at the time of writing.

Joseph Parker vs Jack Massey – Fight Prediction

Here’s a look at the top boxing bets our experts suggest taking ahead of this fight on Saturday night:

Joseph Parker by KO, TKO or DQ @ 4/7 (1.57)

Parker will be bitterly disappointed by his loss to Joe Joyce last year, after working so hard to get himself back into contention for a title fight.

The 31-year-old will know that not only is a win here critical, but it can’t just be any win. Parker needs to win comprehensively, and must knockout Massey if he’s to continue progressing in his career. He’s won by knockout 21 times previously, and will back himself to do so again against a newcomer to the heavyweight division.

Under 8.5 Rounds @ 4/5 (1.80)

In the same vein as Parker needing to win by knockout, a spectacular one would be helpful. Expect the Kiwi to come out firing, and look to finish this fight early. Massey is a skilful boxer, but will ultimately be out of his depth fighting a man of Parker’s quality in the heavyweight division, and should be an easy target for Parker to get a quick win.

Joseph Parker vs Jack Massey Preview

With these two bets to consider, here’s a little extra information on each boxer to help you make your mind up:

Joseph Parker

Five years ago, Joseph Parker was being rated as one of the next big things in heavyweight boxing. He had navigated an undefeated professional career, and landed a heavyweight title fight against Anthony Joshua for the IBF, WBA and WBO belts. A loss in that match was followed by another to Dillian Whyte, which saw Parker fall out of contention for the world title.

The past five years have been spent clawing his way back up the rankings, which he was doing by stringing together six consecutive wins. However, a loss last year to Joe Joyce has seen Parker’s career hanging by a thread in 2023. This fight is undeniably a must win for the 31-year-old.

Jack Massey

England’s Jack Massey has led a hugely successful cruiserweight career since debuting as a professional in 2013. The 29-year-old’s only loss to date has been against the undefeated Richard Riakporhe, and on multiple occasions Massey has held cruiserweight titles.

Now, however, Massey is attempting to make the step up to the heavyweight division, with Saturday night being the crowd favourite’s first heavyweight clash.
