WBC, WBO and IBF World Female Super Welterweight Title: Jonas vs. Dicaire | Latest Odds and Betting Prediction

Saturday night at the AO Arena in Manchester will bring a much anticipated clash between two fierce female super welterweights.

Natasha Jonas fights in front of a home crowd to defend her WBC and WBO belts, while Marie Eve Dicaire steps into the ring outside of Canada for only the second time in her career to put her IBF belt on the line. Both women bring excellent records into this match up, with Jonas sitting at 12-2-1 and Diacaire at 18-1-0. Contrasting fight styles and the prospect of a super fight with Claressa Shields next year for the winner will make this match up one to watch.

We look at the best bets to make on this fight and give our Jonas vs. Dicaire prediction.

Jonas vs. Dicaire Predictions

Both women have a lot to gain, and a lot to lose in this fight. Here’s how we think it will go down on Saturday night:

Natasha Jonas to Win Outright @ 1/5 (1.20)

Britain’s Natasha Jonas has been in hot form the past 12 months, claiming two belts.

Since losing a close decision to Katie Taylor in May last year, Jonas has gone on a tear, taking the scalps of Vaida Masiokaite, Chris Namus and Patricia Berghult in the last year to become the WBO and WBC champion. Fighting in front of a home crowd, with excellent momentum and huge fights on the horizon next year if she can win this one, we think Jonas will get across the line here.

The bookies agree too, with Jonas a heavy favorite at 1/5 (1.20), compared to Dicaire’s 4/1 (5.00).

Natasha Jonas by KO, TKO or DQ @ 10/3 (4.33)

For a healthy return, take Jonas to win this one by knockout.

It’s a bet that goes against the bookmakers’ odds, with Jonas strongly favored to win by decision. However, of Jonas’ twelve career wins, eight have come by way of knockout. The 38-year-old has raw knockout power, and while Dicaire is a good mover that will look to stay out of reach and pick off points, Jonas also has excellent fight IQ.

Over the course of of 10 rounds, expect Jonas to find an opening and finish this one early for a lucrative return of 10/3 (4.33) for punters brave enough to take this one.

Jonas vs. Dicaire Betting Preview

Here’s our analysis of how each woman can win this one on Saturday night:

Jonas Looks to Crowd and Momentum

Jonas heads into this fight the heavy favourite, despite her opponent having a better record overall.

The reality is, Jonas will be riding a wave of momentum in front of a home crowd. Combine this with the fact that she’s got an excellent jab, strong knockout blow and the ability to work a fight to a successful decision victory, and it’s looking like the Brit’s fight to lose. There’s no danger of any rust also, given that Jonas was just in the ring two months ago against Patricia Berghult.

Expect Jonas to take the fight to Dicaire, and try stop this one within 10 rounds.

Dicaire Eager to Recover from First Loss

Eighteen months ago, Marie Eve Dicaire left Canada for the first time and headed to Michigan for a title fight against Claressa Shields.

It didn’t go well for Dicaire, who suffered her first career loss and fought a rebound match back in Canada against Cinthia Lozano late last year. She won that, and has since regained the IBF belt which Shields vacated. However, she’ll be desperate for a win here to get her career back on track. Win, and she’ll be on course for a rematch against Shields. Lose, and she’ll likely not get that opportunity.

Dicaire has a great jab and movement around the ring, and will use this to avoid Jonas’ power, attempting to pick off points and win at the judges.

Tune in this Saturday night from 6:00 PM GMT to catch this title fight.
