Here at Pundit Feed, we love our boxing. Below are two of the wagers we’d recommend putting on this fight, for those who are looking to do a little boxing betting:
Erik Bazinyan to Win by KO, TKO or DQ @ 4/9 (1.44)
Canadian Erik Bazinyan was meant to fight in late 2022, until tragedy struck. His father passed away, and the Armenian-born fighter returned to his homeland for the first time in 11 years.
On paper, Bazinyan should win this fight, with the better record of 28-0 and 21 knockouts, compare to Alantez Fox’s 28-3-1 with 13 knockouts. However, we say that the added motivation of fighting for the first time since having his father pass away, and seeing his family back in Armenia, will only add fuel to the fire. Expect a focused, passionate Bazinyan to come out in Montreal and put his opponent on the canvas.
Fight to Be Under 7.5 Rounds @ 8/11 (1.73)
Flowing on from our reasoning above, we don’t see this fight lasting long. Bazinyan will be motivated, but he’s also undefeated, going up against an opponent who has already been stopped three times.
With the exception of Bazinyan’s latest fights against Marcelo Coceres and Reinanldo Paniagua which ended in a decision and round nine knockout, only one man has lasted more than six rounds with Bazinyan since 2016. The 27-year-old has been ruthlessly efficient in the vast majority of his fights, making a habit of ending matters early. Up against an opponent like Fox, with the motivation he currently holds, expect a repeat of this.
Erik Bazinyan vs Alantez Fox Preview
With these two bets in mind, here’s a brief look at each fighter’s career so far:
Erik Bazinyan
Bazinyan has rocketed out to a professional record of 28-0-0, with a 75% knockout rate. The Canadian will be eyeing a world title fight, and should get one in the next year if he continues winning. Right now, he’s ranked top five by the WBO, WBA and WBC, and is an excellent prospect to be world champion in the super middleweight division.
Alantez Fox
America’s Alantez Fox is no slouch, and has accrued a record of 28-3-1. However, his past five fights have seen only two wins, with a no contest and two losses as well. The 30-year-old was undefeated across his first 25 fights, losing to Demetrius Andrade in 2017 for the first time. Since then, his path has been a little rockier, and a win here would be huge for the trajectory of his career.
