Here at Pundit Feed, we love our boxing predictions. Below are the two best wagers we suggest placing on this fight:
Amanda Serrano to Win By Unanimous Decision @ 5/6 (1.83)
There’s no denying the fact that Amanda Serrano is a heavy favourite heading into this fight. Looking at the outright betting odds, she’s 1/7 to win on Saturday night. However, rather than taking this wager with a minimal return, a better bet is to Serrano to win this one by way of unanimous decision.
While Serrano has a 65% knockout rate across her career, her last three wins have all been by way of unanimous decision. In Erika Cruz, she faces a tough opponent, who is used to going the distance in her bouts. Expect this one to go all the way, but Serrano to have what it takes to get the win.
Fight to Go the Distance @ 2/5 (1.40)
A slightly more conservative bet would be to take this fight going the distance. This allows for Serrano winning on a majority or split decision, as well as Cruz winning on points. The reality is, if Cruz manages to pull off an upset and win this, it will be through a decision—across her career, she’s only ever scored three knockouts.
Amanda Serrano vs Erika Cruz Preview
With these two bets in mind, here’s a further look at each woman’s tale of the tape so far:
Amanda Serrano
The moniker which Amanda Serrano goes by is ‘the Real Deal’, and for good cause. The 34-year-old has been fighting professionally since 2009, and in that time has accrued a whopping 43 wins, for just two losses and a draw. However, last year did she the Puerto Rican lose to Katie Taylor, a loss that will still be stinging.
Serrano currently holds the IBF, IBO, WBC and WBO World Featherweight belts, and would dearly love to add the WBA to her tally and become undisputed here.
Erika Cruz
Mexico’s Erika Cruz is only two years younger than her opponent, yet has fought 30 times less than her as a professional. Debuting in 2016, Cruz lost just her second professional fight, but has been undefeated since then, racing out to a record of 15-1-0 with three knockouts.
Cruz currently holds the only other lightweight belt, and will be putting it on the line when she steps into the ring with Serrano on the weekend.
