Rugby World Cup predictions today

Keen to make one of these bets, but need a little more convincing before dipping into your own wallet? Makes sense! Read on, because each of our Rugby World Cup tips today are backed stats, analysis and expert opinion, making them the best Rugby World Cup predictions today. Here’s a little more on why we say these three bets are the ones you should be making this weekend.

Prediction 1: South Africa to win 1-12 @ 9/5 (2.87)

Yesterday’s semi-final was an absolute blowout with New Zealand putting 44 points on Argentina and holding them tryless. With such a lopsided draw at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, will we see a similar result in the second semi-final? We say no, this weekend will dish up at least one tight encounter.

Across their last six matches, England and South Africa have split the glories winning three each. The majority of these matches were tight, with England twice winning by a point. Considering this is a Rugby World Cup semi-final, where teams typically shut down any thoughts of ambitious rugby and look to play territory, moving forward in multiples of three instead, it would be no surprise whatsoever if the final score was tight in this match. Even if South Africa do dominate.

Prediction 2: Under 41 points in the match @ 11/10 (2.10)

Similar to the logic above, it’s hard to see this one being a blowout. Yes, many are giving South Africa wraps for being a far better team than England, and that may well be the case, but the Red Roses rise for occasions like this. They play brilliant tournament rugby, and if there’s any team that can shut down the Springbok’s style of play, it’s England. Expect this one to be a good old fashioned arm wrestle, with less than 41 points scored overall.

Prediction 3: England/South Africa half-time/full-time @ 13/2 (7.50)

To be clear, we think that South Africa will have too much class in the end and will book a mouth-watering clash against the All Blacks next weekend. However, an English side that have been absolutely written off and have their backs against the wall with nothing to lose… That’s a team that could come out firing and take a lead into the sheds. This bet is far from a sure thing, but with a return of 13/2 (7.50), it’s one worth taking.
