Scotland vs Wales Prediction and Odds: Six Nations

While all eyes are on Ireland vs France this weekend, Scotland are quietly hoping to move into the second favourite position in the betting odds with a win over Wales this Saturday. The Scots were impressive against England in Round One, coming away with an upset victory, while Wales looked poor in their match with Ireland. Can Wales bounce back, or will Scotland continue their momentum?

We break down all the best bets to make on Scotland vs Wales in this Six Nations betting preview.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Scotland vs Wales – Match Prediction

Here at Pundit Feed, we love our rugby predictions. These are the best two wagers we suggest taking on this match:

Scotland to Win By 1-12 @ 11/8 (2.38)

Last weekend, Scotland impressed while Wales disappointed. However, Wales have an incredible record against Scotland, winning 23 of their past 26 meetings—including their last match here in Edinburgh.

While Wales are not currently much of a force to be reckoned with, we believe they will find a way to turn this match into a gritty arm wrestle between two old footy foes. Expect Scotland to come out on top, but just barely by the skin of their teeth.

Wales/Scotland Halftime/Fulltime @ 11/2 (6.50)

Having been with the team for only a month or so, Warren Gatland was unable to work his magic fast enough to produce a win against World No.1 Ireland in Round One. However, he certainly is something of a rugby magician, and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if he rouses Wales so well that they put in an entirely different first half performance against Scotland.

Scotland trailed at halftime against England last week, and ended up winning. We say they’ll need to do the same this week against Wales, and it offers fantastic betting odds as well.

Scotland vs Wales Preview

With these two bets in mind, here’s a brief look at how each team is shaping up:

Scotland

Scotland have been the surprise package of the 2023 Six Nations so far, and the big movers in the overall betting odds. With an upset over England at Twickenham, they have suddenly shot into third favourite in the betting odds, behind Ireland and France. Can they back up their impressive performance in Round One and make a charge towards an inaugural Six Nations title here?

Scotland team to play Wales: 15 Hogg, 14 Steyn, 13 Jones, 12 Tuipulotu, 11 Van der Merwe, 10 Russell, 9 White, 1 Schoeman, 2 Turner, 3 Z.Fagerson, 4 R.Gray, 5 Gilchrist, 6 Ritchie (capt), 7 Crosbie, 8 M.Fagerson, 16 Brown, 17 Bhatti, 18 WP Nel, 19 J. Gray, 20 Dempsey, 21 Horne, 22 Kinghorn and 23 Harris.

Wales

Heading into the Six Nations this year, Wales were the dark horse. Would their favourite son, Warren Gatland, be able to work his magic and produce a revival of Biblical proportions? The answer based on Round One is no, with the Welsh being blown away by Ireland. The question now, is can they gain a semblance of respectability from their Six Nations campaign, and perhaps finish with two or even three wins?

Wales team to play Scotland: 15 L. Williams, 14 Adams, 13 North, 12 Hawkins, 11 Dyer, 10 Biggar, 9 T. Williams, 1 W. Jones, 2 Owens (capt), 3 Lewis, 4 Jenkins, 5 Beard, 6 Tshiunza, 7 Reffell, 8 Morgan, 16 Baldwin, 17 Carre, 18 Brown, 19 Davies, 20 Faletau, 21 Webb, 22 Patchell and 23 Cuthbert.
