Verona vs Bologna Top Odds and Picks

A couple of Serie A sides are facing each other in this friendly encounter.

Under 2.5 Goals

Verona is the worst team in Serie A this season, and their recent friendly match against Croatian side Istra 1961 ended with a goalless draw. They have trouble scoring goals throughout the season, and it’s hard to envision them suddenly finding their scoring touch.

Both Teams to Score – No

Once again, when Verona is concerned goalscoring is not a given. They have a lot of confidence issues, and it’s going to be hard for them to score, even though with friendlies one can never be certain of any outcome.

Bologna to Win

Bologna played well in both of their friendly matches demolishing Kapfenberg 9-0 and beating Mallorca 2-1. Considering that Verona is in a tough position all around, no matter that this is a friendly match, Bologna will look to win this game.

Verona vs Bologna Preview: Can Verona save themselves?

Verona

If we look hard at every big league in Europe, we would be hard-pressed to find a team that is so bad as Verona. They have won only once in 15 matches this season, and they are last in the Serie A standings, but in a somewhat funny circumstance, they still have a reasonable chance of saving themselves because other teams are equally as bad. It’s hard to remember a Serie A season that had so many teams that struggled so much. Nobody has more losses this season than Verona, they were defeated twelve times and tasted their only victory at the beginning of September against Sampdoria who are second from bottom in the league table. There is little comfort for the Verona fans who have virtually lost all of their hope that they will see their team play Serie A football next season even though there is still a chance.

Bologna

The team from Bologna is in a different frame of mind right now. Recently they suffered a loss as their former coach Sinisa Mihajlovic died from an illness, his replacement in the middle of September was Thiago Motta. The Brazilian coach had a tough time getting used to the team but found his way just as the season was halted for the World Cup. Bologna won four out of their last five matches which took them to the eleventh spot in the league, a long way from the relegation zone. Now, with some security in sight, Motta has a chance to build the squad chemistry the way he wants to, and we have already seen the fruits of his work in this short training period. Bologna’s forward line is starting to gel, and it will be interesting to see how they play their first few games in the Serie A when the season resumes in the new year.
