Valencia vs AZ Alkmaar Bets, Odds, and Predictions
The Dutch side will play their first friendly match since the season was stopped for the World Cup.
Valencia to Win
It is almost impossible to predict how will Valencia play in any given game, but considering this is going to be their third friendly match this autumn, and they started their training much earlier than the AZ team, they will have the advantage, especially as the game will be played in Spain.
Over 2.5 Goals
Both of Valencia’s games this preparation period ended with two or more goals scored, and considering that Alkmaar is one of the most efficient teams in Dutch football, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this was a high-scoring affair.
Both Teams to Score – Yes
Similarly to the first option, if there is a chance for a high goalscoring game, it is more than likely both teams will score at least a goal.
Valencia vs AZ Alkmaar Preview: Giving some order in a chaotic season
Valencia
The La Liga side has been all over the place with their results. It is virtually impossible to predict how their next match will turn out. Considering these facts, they have done well in Primera this season as they are currently lying in the tenth position with a realistic chance of securing European football next season. However, certain things need to change. They have won only five out of their 14 matches in the league, and they will need to reset their defensive goals. They have the third-worst defense of all the teams in the top ten, and the lack of balance in the squad often leads to a negative outcome. One of the veteran goalkeepers Jaume Domenech is injured, as well as the team’s captain Jose Gaya, but the rest of the team is ready for action.
AZ Alkmaar
The Dutch side is playing in a weaker league, but they have good competition every week. It’s interesting to notice that they have the worst offense of all the title contenders, and by a large margin, but that didn’t hurt their chances of maintaining a realistic goal of challenging for the championship when the season restarts. They are only four points away from the leader Feyenoord. There will be a huge competition between themselves, Feyenoord, Ajax, and PSV, while there is also Twente to consider as a team who can do some damage. AZ played great football most of the season, but suddenly, as the World Cup break was approaching, they started dropping points. They lost three out of their last five matches which took them from the very top of the league to the current position at number four. Jens Odgaard has been impressive with six goals this season, the young Danish forward could feature in this match as well.
