Nublense v Flamengo Free Betting Tips and Predictions
The Copa Libertadores match Nublense v Flamengo sees last year’s champions take on this year’s tournament debutants. Below we have tried to give you our best free betting tips.
Flamengo to Win
Our first Nublense v Flamengo prediction is backing the Brazilian team to return home with all three points. Since the appointment of Jorge Sampaoli, the current holders have improved in recent weeks and they have a golden opportunity to earn three key points in Chile.
Nublense are debuting in the competition and although they’ve been placed in a tough group, they did manage to pick up their first three points on home soil against Aucas. Despite this, they were comfortably beaten when facing Racing, and they also lost the reverse fixture 2-0 in a match where Flamengo dominated throughout.
Flamengo finished the match with 17 shots compared to Nublense’s three, who didn’t hit the target once during the 90 minutes. Flamengo were 2-0 up at half-time and were arguably the more frustrated side in the second half as they were unable to add a third. However, despite not running away with it, they will have enough here to comfortably brush Nublense to one side.
Over 2.5 Goals
Our second Nublense v Flamengo prediction suggests we could be fortunate to witness three goals as a minimum. Although the reverse leg finished 2-0, Flamengo dominated throughout and with their qualification far from guaranteed, this is an opportunity to get three important points but improve their goal difference as a result.
Last year’s Libertadores golden boot winner, Pedro, scored a brace in the previous match against Nublense and he’ll be keen to regain that title and prove why he’s one of the best strikers in South America. Flamengo have talent across the park, and they will be able to stretch the Chilean club, causing them plenty of problems.
However, although Nublense couldn’t land a glove on Flamengo in Brazil, they did score two well worked goals against Aucas, and appear to be rising to the challenge of the Libertadores. A goal isn’t out of the question for the home side, which would really boost our second bet here.
Flamengo First Goal
Our final Nublense v Flamengo prediction is simply tipping Flamengo to get the ball rolling first. Having come out fast against Nublense in the reverse leg, Flamengo will not want a repeat of their embarrassing defeat to Aucas. Several key players were rested on that occasion, but with first place still up for grabs, Sampaoli will no doubt field his strongest XI and they can break the deadlock in Chile.
Nublense v Flamengo Lineups and Other News
Nublense
The implications of playing in the Libertadores, as well as several key exits after their success last campaign, has had a serious impact on Nublense. Currently closer to the bottom of the Chilean Primera Division than the top, and also occupying fourth place in Group A, the club isn’t expected to pick up many more points, if any, with two away matches to follow after their tie with Flamengo.
At the age of 34, Patricio Rubio continues to lead the line for Nublense, and he’s on course for a better season than last year with five domestic goals in 12 appearances, as well as a Libertadores goal when they famously won their first ever match in this competition. He will be their main threat against Flamengo, who will be tested coming up against the likes of David Luiz.
Flamengo
Flamengo have shown signs of improvement of late, and after such a poor start to the campaign, they are more reliable to back in these kind of matches. Last time out, Gabriel Barbosa became the all-time Brazilian top goalscorer in the Libertadores, and he’s likely to lead the line with Pedro a doubt for the match.
Bruno Henrique has continued to get minutes under his belt after missing most of 2022, but he’s a very capable striker on his day and Flamengo’s trip to Chile could kickstart his career with Flamengo.
Keep an eye on 19-year-old Matheus Franca, who scored against Aucas in the Libertadores but recently found the net against Bahia in the Brasileiro. The young striker already has several admirers.
