Olympiakos vs Nottingham Forest Top Odds and Predictions

Olympiakos are in the midst of a season they already wish to forget, but they hope their chances of another title can be reset during this short training camp.

Under 2.5 Goals

Olympiakos is usually effective in their league, but this season a lot of things have gone wrong for the club. They only have four ‘over’ games out of 13 which shows their proficiency for low-scoring games.

Both Teams to Score – Yes

Even though there shouldn’t be a lot of goals in this match, a BTTS seems like a good choice to make. Olympiakos has trouble defending the entire season, and the same goes for Nottingham Forest.

Draw

It’s hard to find a winner in this matchup, both teams are disappointed with their results this season, and a draw seems like a reasonable resolution.

Olympiakos vs Nottingham Forest Preview: How to get back from the brink?

Olympiakos

This is an interesting matchup because both of these teams are owned by the same person, a Greek millionaire Evangelos Marinakis. He is more than frustrated with how his teams are producing this season. Olympiakos is his ‘baby’, and to see them crumble like this season, it’s something that we don’t see often. They are only fourth in the league with a huge 12 points difference between the top side and their biggest rival Panathinaikos. Funny enough, Marinakis didn’t invest much in the Olympiakos team, he probably thought the team is good enough to take another easy title. However, things haven’t worked out this year, and Olympiakos hasn’t been this bad in a long time. They are also behind AEK and PAOK which makes things even worse. Marinakis will have to buy some new players in the January transfer window to try and make things right in the final part of the season.

Nottingham Forest

Marinakis didn’t invest much in Olympiakos, but he broke the bank on Nottingham Forest. In trying to keep them in the Premier League he brought in 15+ players and spent over £130m. What he got for that kind of money is barely worth mentioning. The team is in the relegation zone and has one of the worst attacks in the Premier League. Recently, Marinakis fired almost the entire scouting department and brought in Steve Cooper as the new coach, but in almost three months in charge, not much has changed. Forest scored only 11 goals this season in 15 games and allowed 30 which is two per game on average. Only Southampton and Wolverhampton are worse placed in the rankings. Marinakis will probably spend even more money during the January transfer window, he can’t allow Nottingham Forest to drop down once again to the Championship.
