PSG 2023-24 Home Kit Unveiled But Will We See Messi Wear It?

Paris St Germain have just released the home kit for the 2023-24 campaign. Staying in touch with the rumours and leaks regarding the PSG home kits, this edition – made by Nike – draws inspiration from the style used by the club during the early 2000s.

This version of the PSG shirt remains iconic after it featured Ronaldinho at the prime of his powers, while the likes of Gabriel Heinze were the other stars to have donned the same.

The prominent element of the new design would be the red and white stripes. These are quite prominent towards the collar and they gradually fadeaway into the blue colours. The fadeaway element brings about the futuristic element compared with the older design, where the stripes were continuous from top to bottom. This fadeaway element is a clear reference to the Paris skyline which has a ton of bright lights blending into the same. There is also a tricolour flag to clearly show that the allegiance of this immensely successful French outfit does not lie elsewhere.

The new PSG 2023-24 kits will be available for purchase from May 31, 2023. It will be available on the official Nike store or PSG club store. The authentic home kits are priced at €150.

The French outfit also unveiled the goalkeeper kit, which has been done in a darker green compared to last season. Further, there are plenty of graphic elements on the goalkeeper kit and it is likely to draw comparisons with military camouflage patterns. These goalkeeper kits would set fans back by €104 without any name printing and €125 with printing.

PSG continued their impressive streak in the French Ligue 1 after picking up the 11th Ligue 1 title. The Champions League honour continues to evade the team and the club will be hoping that this new kit turns out to be luckier than the predecessors.

The big headline for the PSG 2023-24 kit will be the presence of Lionel Messi in the promotional campaigns. There has been plenty of talk about Messi leaving PSG for lucrative offers from the Middle East or North America. The Argentine superstar’s contract with PSG comes to a close in just over a month. Messi even decided to skip the end-of-season awards in favour of a concert in Barcelona, where he has spent the majority of his life. Yet, Messi has featured prominently in the promotional adverts alongside Kylian Mbappe.

Messi has been at PSG for the last two seasons. Even though international success has finally reached his trophy cabinet, Messi has been able to enjoy a great deal of personal success at the Parc des Princes. It is thought to be a strong reason behind Messi considering a potential exit. Similarly, Neymar is also thought to be open to a move if the right offer arrives. Incidentally, Neymar has also featured in the promotions.
