He is much more experienced at this level than Purcell, and that will make the difference in this match. Nishioka moves better on clay, and playing with his left hand makes him a difficult opponent for anybody. Purcell won his first match at the French Open and will not win more than a set in this one.

Nishioka has never made it past the second round of the French Open and last year he lost in the opening round winning only four games against Novak Djokovic. His best result this season was in the round of 16 at the Australian Open, where he lost to Karen Khachanov.
Max Purcell
Purcell sits in 68th place in the ATP rankings, one spot lower than his career high. The 25-year-old Australian is 39-10 for the season and 2-2 on clay. In the opening round of the French Open, Purcell defeated Jordan Thompson 7-5, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. This is the first time ever for him to make it to the main draw in Roland Garros. Purcell won three tournaments on the challenger level this season – in Chennai, Bangalore and Pune. He also made it to four other finals losing in Busan, Gwangju and Lille.
