WTA French Open 2023 Predictions – Women’s Event Betting Tips of the Day

The French Open is finally coming to an end after two weeks of exciting tennis fixtures. This will be the last big clay court tournament of the year, and it ushers in the grass court swing. 128 players made it through to the main draw, and there are just two players left standing. One of these is a two-time Roland Garros champion, who won this event last year; the other is playing in a grand slam final for the first time in her career. On that note, which of these players will hoist this year’s French Open title when it’s all said and done?

French Open 2023 Predictions – Outright Winner

Granted, Iga Swiatek has been by far the most dominant player in this competition. The three-time grand slam champion won all of her matches in straight sets en route to the final. As a matter of fact, Swiatek surrendered less than 4.5 games in four of six matches so far, and less than 6.5 games in five of six previous matches in this tournament. It’s also fair to point out that Swiatek is the defending champion of this competition, having won the title last year whilst dropping just one set. The Polish ace has won two of the last three Roland Garros titles, and is on course for her third French Open title in four years. Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that Iga Swiatek is priced at 2/15 (1.13) to win the Roland Garros title.

However, considering those odds aren’t really worth betting on, let’s take a look at Karolina Muchova’s chances. Being an unseeded player, Muchova was drawn to play against eighth-seeded Maria Sakkari in the first round. Although many didn’t expect her to reach the second round, the Czech player defeated Sakkari in straight sets. Karolina Muchova has been on an impressive run since then, surrendering just two sets en route to the final. We’ve already established that Iga Swiatek is yet to lose a set. It may also interest you to know that Muchova defeated World number 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the previous round; the Belarusian player had won all of her matches in straight sets, but fell to Muchova in the semi-final.

Furthermore, Iga Swiatek and Karolina Muchova have met two times in the past, and Muchova won both encounters. To be fair, one of those was in an exhibition match, and Iga Swiatek has improved a lot since these two last met. However, at 5/1 (6.00), we’re going for value here; and that’s why we’re backing Karolina Muchova to win her first career grand slam title today.

Iga Swiatek vs Karolina Muchova Head-to-head

This will be the third encounter between these players. Interestingly, they previously met two times in the Czech Republic, and one of those clashes was at the Czech Elite Cup. It’s important to point out that Iga Swiatek hasn’t fared well against Karolina Muchova in the past; as she’s currently 0 for 2 against today’s opponent.
