It’s fair to point out that all four previous skirmishes between these players took place on this surface, and three of them were in 2023. That said, Karolina Muchova won three of four encounters between these two, with two of those coming in straight sets. While Sorana Cirstea has put up some fine performances in this competition, we believe the road ends here for the Romanian player.

Despite being one of the pre-tournament favourites, Coco Gauff has never won a grand slam title in her career. She came close last year, where she lost to Swiatek at the French Open final.
