Wimbledon Day 14 Predictions
Alcaraz vs Djokovic Prediction: Djokovic Over 20.5 Games
The defending Wimbledon winner, Novak Djokovic, is the favorite to maintain his championship and win his eighth Wimbledon title. Nonetheless, we must consider Carlos Alcaraz’s impressive performance at only 20 years old. His finishing is amazing in its bravery and accuracy.
After his performance in the competition, it is difficult to assume that Alcaraz will not win at least one set. Djokovic also dropped sets both times he met Alcaraz. I believe this match would be decided in 4 to 5 sets, meaning Djokovic would need to win more than 20, 5 games to be crowned the winner.
- The match between Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic will begin at 14:00 on Centre Court.
Hunter / Mertenss vs Hsieh / Strykova Prediction:
Total Sets: 2
Great effort should be recognized and rewarded, but this is not always the case. Hunter and Mertens had one of the best Grand Slam runs ever. They’ve played five matches thus far and won all of them in straight sets.
Strykova from Czechoslovakia and Hsieh from Taipei have also done well. The difference is that they did lose a set and were almost eliminated. Because both teams have won the majority of their matches in straight sets, I expect this match to be a two-setter.
First Set after two Games: 1-1
The Dutch-Australian combination converted most of the breakpoints after the middle of each set. Granollers and Zeballos’ defence is good, so it is likely that after game 2 of the first set, the score will be even at 1-1.
- The match between S. Hunter / E. Mertens vs M. Granollers / H. Zeballos will start at 16:00 on Centre Court.
