Welcome to the grand finale of the 2023 US Open, where champions will be crowned, and tennis history will be made. As the tournament’s thrilling journey nears its conclusion, the world’s most elite athletes have gathered at the hallowed grounds of Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium for one last showdown of skill, determination, and heart.

In Arthur Ashe Stadium, the Women’s Doubles Final promises to deliver riveting action as players from different corners of the globe vie for supremacy on the doubles court. Following this, the Men’s Singles Final will bring together two tennis giants in a match that will keep spectators on the edge of their seats. All eyes in the tennis world will be peeled here.

On one side of the net, we have the indomitable force from Russia, Daniil Medvedev. Known for his relentless baseline game, impeccable court coverage, and remarkable consistency, Medvedev has been on a tear throughout this tournament. He ended the ambitions of Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals to set up a repeat of the 2021 US Open final.

Facing the Russian powerhouse is none other than the Serbian sensation, Novak Djokovic. Djokovic, a living legend in the world of tennis, is chasing history today. A win in this final would not only secure his record-breaking 24th Grand Slam title, putting him beyond the reach of Rafael Nadal, the only other active player with 22 Grand Slam titles. It would further cement his status as one of the greatest tennis players to ever grace the court. Known for his unrivaled mental toughness, all-court prowess, and unmatched versatility, Djokovic has the experience and tenacity to turn any match in his favor.

As these two giants collide on the hallowed grounds of Arthur Ashe Stadium, it’s not just a battle for the championship but also a clash of playing styles and a test of mental fortitude. Medvedev’s fierce determination to seize the throne clashes with Djokovic’s seasoned poise under pressure. Every point will be contested with ferocity, and every rally will be a testament to their athletic prowess.

Similar sentiments are to be expected in the Women’s Doubles Final. It should feature a thrilling contest between pairs from Canada, Germany, New Zealand, and Russia. Laura Siegemund, the German ace lost to recently crowned singles champion, Coco Gauff in the first round and would want to claim silverware herself.

Meanwhile, at Louis Armstrong Stadium, the focus shifts to the wheelchair tennis championships. In the WC Women’s and Men’s Singles Finals, athletes from the Netherlands, Japan, and Great Britain will showcase their incredible talent and determination. And in the WC Quad Singles Final, two Dutch powerhouses will go head-to-head, leaving it all on the court.

Get ready for an unforgettable day of tennis excellence, where champions will rise, and legends will be born. The 2023 US Open concludes with these epic battles, and we’re here to bring you all the action, drama, and excitement from the heart of the tennis world. Welcome to the grand finale!

US Open schedule 2023 – Wednesday, August 30th

Following two awesome days of tennis at Flushing Meadows, the time has arrived for round two of the main events at the US Open. Of course, this means that the full US Open schedule for today is loaded with round two events in the men’s and women’s singles. However, this is the first day that the schedule takes a different path when compared to Monday and Tuesday. And that’s because the US Open order of play finally showcases the first set of doubles matches. Therefore, as you will see once I run through the full schedule below, today will host the opening rounds for both the men’s and women’s doubles events.

This also means that not all of the courts will host purely singles games today. Instead, many of what would be considered to be the ‘outdoor courts’ will host a mix of singles and doubles matches. And the best thing about this is that while the top seeds for the singles are still mainly playing on the show courts, the top seeds for the doubles events feature in the US Open schedule for the outdoor courts. US Open schedule 2023 – the full tournament overview

As mentioned above, the specific US Open dates for 2023 cover a two-week period. The very first day of play is set for Monday, August 28th. From this point onwards, the tournament will progress until we are left with just a few finals left to play on Sunday, September 10th. Of course, the US Open schedule will vary from day to day throughout this two-week period. Don’t worry, my updates on the US Open order of play will keep you informed with each day of the event.

This way, you will know precisely what events and matches are coming up for every single day of this Grand Slam tournament. However, given the progressive nature of these knockout events, you should know that the US Open schedule will be ‘busier’ in week one compared to week two. During the first week, all of the top US Open 2023 seeds will be in action, and this is true for the different events being played.

Yet with each round played, the draw size will decrease, which is why the second week isn’t quite as packed as the first. With that said, the second week should be more exciting and more dramatic than the first. After all, this is the point at which we reach the fourth round stage, so the matches are more intense and the pressure is exponentially greater.

Anyway, what about a day-by-day breakdown for the US Open 2023 schedule? Well, let me guide you through this right now.

2023 US Open schedule – matches scheduled for each day

Given that the US Open is a two-week-long event, there are going to be different matches taking place on different days. On that note, so that you are prepared for the matches on each day of the US Open schedule, I’d like to provide a quick guide for what matches are coming up on what days. I’ve detailed this for the main singles events below, and I’ve also highlighted the doubles events once these reach the latter stages.

So, let me take you through the US Open 2023 schedule for the complete two-week event right now.

August 28th & 29th – first rounds

On Monday, August 28th, and Tuesday, August 29th, the first-round matches are scheduled to be played. Of course, given that the first rounds of the singles events have the most players involved, these rounds will subsequently have the most matches. And for those who might be interested, we will be providing both ATP US Open 2023 predictions and WTA US Open 2023 predictions throughout the event – including the first rounds!

August 30th & 31st – second rounds

Once the first rounds have been wrapped up, the US Open will move on to the second rounds. This is the point at which the draw has been cut down from 128 to 64 players, meaning that only half of the initial contenders are left. As you can see, the second rounds will be played on Wednesday, August 30th, and Thursday, August 31st.

September 1st & 2nd – third rounds

Once we reach September, it’s time for the third rounds to commence. In line with the provisional US Open 2023 schedule, these matches should be played and completed on Thursday, September 1st, and Friday, September 2nd.

September 3rd & 4th – fourth rounds/round of 16

As the US Open schedule turns the bend from the first week into the second, the fourth rounds, otherwise known as the ‘round of 16’ matches will then be played.

September 5th & 6th – quarter-finals

At this point, there will be just 8 players left in the main singles draws. Of course, this is the point at which the very top seeds could play one another too, and these quarter-finals games will be played on September 5th and 6th.

September 7th – women’s singles & doubles semi-finals

With just four days left of the event, Thursday, September 7th, should host some spectacular matches. The women’s semi-finals will be played today, as will both sets of doubles semi-finals.

September 8th – men’s singles semis & mixed/men’s doubles final (TBD)

Following directly on from the women’s singles semi-finals, Friday, September 8th, will host the men’s semi-finals. This is also the date for which the mixed or the men’s doubles final will be played, which will be confirmed by the US Open schedule during the two weeks.

September 9th – women’s singles & mixed/men’s doubles final (TBD)

On Saturday, September 9th, the women’s singles final will be played. Additionally, either the men’s doubles final or the mixed doubles final will be played too.

September 10th – men’s singles & women’s doubles final

At the very end of the US Open 2023 schedule, we will witness the second of two finals days. This is obviously the final installment of the US Open dates for 2023, and Sunday, September 10th, will host both the men’s singles and women’s doubles final.
