Marketa Vondrousova vs Ons Jabeur Prediction and Odds: Wimbledon 2023

Ons Jabeur will be a Wimbledon finalist for the second year in succession after defeating Aryna Sabalenka. Marketa Voundrousova also made it to the finals against all odds. As in the previous tournament, none of the finalists have won a Grand Slam.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Marketa Vondrousova vs Ons Jabeur – Match Predictions

Find out the best daily tennis predictions and the top Marketa Vondrousova vs Ons Jabeur betting tips.

Set 1: Jabeur

Both players performed admirably at Wimbledon 2023, defeating formidable opponents. With three wins each, the head-to-head record is equal.

The Tunisian player has a modest advantage due to her expertise in playing on grass.  Jabeur has 70 wins in 90 matches on this surface in her career. Vondroudova only won 13 of her 25 games on grass. My prediction for the 2023 Wimbledon Final is that Jabeur will capture the opening set.

Set 1 after two Games: 1-1

Both players are likely to spend their time figuring out how to make their opponents make errors. Both players understand how critical it is to win the opening set, so each serve must be taken seriously.

In the previous round, neither player lost her first serve. As a result, I predict that the score will be 1-1 after the first two games of the opening set.

Marketa Vondrousova

The 24-year-old will compete in her second Grand Slam final. Marketa competed in the Roland Garros final in 2019, losing to Ashleigh Barry of Australia.

Vondrousova stunned Elina Svitolina in the previous round. We were expecting a thrilling duel, and we were not disappointed. Svitolina converted three breakpoints, but Marketa converted six. This duel lasted approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and concluded 6-3 6-3.

Ons Jabeur

The Tunisian tennis player’s path to the final was one of the most arduous we’ve witnessed in recent Wimbledon championships. Ons Jabeur had faced three top 10 players in the previous three rounds.

In the fourth round, she faced world number nine Petra Kvitova, and in the quarter-finals, she defeated world number three and defending Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina. Everything became much more tricky in the semi-finals with the arrival of world number two Aryna Sabalenka, the favorite to win the title following the withdrawal of Iga Swiatek. Jabeur’s hunger to win her maiden Grand Slam triumphed, and she is now in her second Wimbledon final.

Vondrousova vs Jabeur Head to Head

These two players first met at the 2015 Prague Open, with the Czech player coming out on top. They had three more meetings between 2016 and 2022, all of which Jabeur won.

They met again at the start of the year, for the first time in a Grand Slam, and then again in Indian Wells. Marketa Voundrousova won both bouts.

13/03/23 – Vondrousova beat Jabeur 7-6 6-4 (Indian Wells, hardcourt)

19/01/23 – Vondrousova beat Jabeur 3-6 6-3 6-2 (Australian Open, hardcourt)
