Huesler to not win a set
Despite recently breaking in the world’s top 50 for the first time this year, Marc-Andrea Huesler is unfortunate in the fact that he is set to come up against one of the most in-form players in the world in Tommy Paul. Paul has started 2023 like a man determined to fulfil his potential and a top-10 debut is surely just around the corner for the American.
In five tournaments this year, Paul has won every single one of his opening matches in straight sets which is an ominous sign for the Huesler. After coming through a gruelling three-setter to reach this stage, he may also be feeling a little tight.

Since Roger Federer’s retirement, Marc-Andrea Huesler has been the number one Swiss tennis player on the ATP Tour. The 26-year-old obviously isn’t Roger Federer but he is beginning to find his feet on tour after a difficult few years. Now ranked inside the world’s top 50, he won his first and only ATP title last year at the Sofia Open.
So far in 2023, he hasn’t enjoyed the best of form and endured a five-match losing streak in February. However, with the courts in Miami playing more like a traditional hard court, he could easily go on a run and make a name for himself.
Tommy Paul
Tommy Paul has always threatened to become a top player but this year, it looks as if the penny may have dropped. He made it through to the semi-finals at the Australian Open in January and lost in the final at the Acapulco Open at the beginning of March. He will be confident of making another deep run at Miami.
