Karolina Pliskova and Magda Linette have been on a collision course the past week, with both women carving a trail of destruction through their respective sections of the draw. Considering how well each are playing, it’s hard to see this being a one sided match.
Picking a winner feels like a bit of a coin toss and doesn’t offer the best odds, but which ever way this goes, it should take a few games. The last time they met in a Grand Slam, it took 31 games to find a winner. If it’s anywhere close to that, this bet will be made easily.
Match to Be Three Sets @ 11/8 (2.38)
Following the same lines as above, we expect this match to go the distance in terms of sets. Their last meeting in a Grand Slam went to three, and while Pliskova is yet to drop a set this tournament, and has only dropped 19 games across four matches, she should meet stronger resistance in the form of Magda Linette who has only lost the one set so far.
Considering that Linette just beat the in-form No 4 seed Carolina Garcia in straight sets, she should at least take a set off Pliskova, if not the match.

Her 16 singles titles testify to a career that once saw her stand at No 1 in the world. While she’s now down at No 31 in the world, across the last week she’s been reminding fans of what she can do with a tennis racket, carving her way through this draw in straight sets.
Magda Linette
Polish player Magda Linette is also playing some lights out tennis at the Australian Open 2023, and has been responsible for the elimination of three consecutive seeds over the past week. With the scalps of Anett Kontaveit, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Caroline Garcia already to her name, the world No 45 will be eager to add Pliskova’s name to that list too.
