J.J.Wolf vs Alexander Shevchenko – Match Predictions
Contents
J.J. Wolf has barely played on clay court in his career but is much more experienced than his opponent. Both players are in Madrid for the first time which makes this match tough to predict.
Wolf to win
Wolf has an excellent serve which will give him some advantage in this match despite it will be played on a clay surface. Wolf has been one of the rising stars of US tennis in the last couple of years and this may be his breakthrough season on the big stage. Shevchenko went through the qualifiers and this will be his first match in the main draw of a tournament of this level. That which makes him more familiar with the surface but, at the same time, more tired. Wolf has a more powerful forehand between the two players and that will be the difference maker.
Over 22.5 games
Shevchenko played three tie-breaks in the four sets he played in the qualifiers in Madrid. Going against a great server as Wolf, this will be another match in which both players would hold their serves for most of the match. Wolf has played in straight sets in 4 of his last 5 matches while the Russian has done that in all of his last five. The stakes of this match will get the best out of both players so there will be not many breaks and probably it will go in the third set.
