Emma Raducanu vs Tamara Korpatsch – Match Predictions

Although Raducanu is going into the match with injury concerns, we are still predicting the result to go in her favour. Let’s take a closer look at our pre-match predictions.

Emma Raducanu To Win The Match and Under 19.5 Total Games

Emma Raducano is known for her explosive game, with big forehand winners and short points typically being the order of the day. If Raducano is anywhere near her best then Korpatsch is unlikely to be able to withstand the pressure. Although the best part of the German’s game is her defence, the sheer power of Raducanu is more than likely going to be too much.

With that in mind, we are expecting Raducano to win comfortably and in double-quick time. Under 19.5 games covers you for a 6-4 6-3 victory for Raducano but in truth, it could and should be even more comfortable than that providing the Brit is fit and up for it.

Over 7.5 Total Breaks Of Serve in the Match

When we say that Korpatsch is a walking break of serve we aren’t exaggerating. In her last match against Kristina Kucova, Korpatsch was broken an incredible ten times and didn’t hold serve until her sixth service game of the match. Korpatsch, however, is a good service returner and should manage a couple of breaks of her own in the match.

It isn’t out of the realms of possibility that Raducanu covers the over 7.5 total breaks of service alone. However, if she doesn’t then her service game isn’t impenetrable and is known for going for risky big second serves on occasion. At 10/11 (1.91), this seems like a good value bet.

Emma Raducanu vs Tamara Korpatsch Preview

Both players have different aspirations going into the tournament, and both have experienced different preparations. Let’s take a look at how they’re both shaping up.

Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu had a slight fall from grace last season after winning the US Open at the end of 2021. The young British star was catapulted up the rankings and didn’t cope particularly well with being in the limelight each and every week. As a result, she is now ranked 75th in the world but has spoken recently about how she’s feeling positive about the season ahead. She has overcome an ankle injury to be fit for the tournament and will be hoping that she can enjoy an injury-free 2023.

Tamara Korpatsch

Tamara Korpatsch recently reached a career-high 74 in the WTA rankings, meaning she is actually a place higher than Raducanu in the official rankings. Since achieving that ranking in November, her form hasn’t been great and has lost three out of her last four matches. She has suffered badly with Covid in the past but will be hoping that those issues are all behind her as she enters 2023.

Raducanu vs Korpatsch Head to Head

The pair have only played each once before and that was at the WTA Stuttgart in April last year. Raducanu came out on top in three sets in a game that was played indoors on a clay court.
