However, the Australian player has not had a lot of action this year. As a matter of fact, Kyrgios has played only one match in 2023; at the Stuttgart Open a couple of weeks ago, where he lost to Wu Yibing in straight sets. Heading into this match, the 28 year old has lost five matches in a row, stretching back to the previous year. Considering the obvious fitness concerns, we are leaning towards David Goffin for the victory.

Although we believe that David Goffin will win this match, we don’t think he’ll do so in straight sets. For one, the Belgian player suffered three losses in his last four skirmishes with Nick Kyrgios; the last time he defeated the Australian in straight sets was in 2016.
