Our favourite Botic Van de Zandschulp vs Christopher O’Connell predictions
Contents
O’Connel recently won his first title of the year. Still, Van de Zandschulp is seen as the better overall player which makes this a tough match to predict.
Christopher O’Connell to win @ 9/10 (1.90)
O’Connell is having a decent season, and recently, he won a challenger tournament in Shanghai. Now, the competition will be much tougher in the largest city in China, but O’Connell seems ready for it. He has lost only 3 sets in his last 10 matches, which speaks enough on his form. Van de Zandschulp had some promising performances earlier in the season, but he has never defeated the Australian, and given the surface and the recent form of both players, O’Connell is the one to advance further.
First set over 9.5 games @ 7/10 (1.70)
Both players are not very consistent in their play but with the stakes that comes with a Masters tournament, they will both bring their best tennis to Shanghai. Van de Zandschulp is the better overall player but O’Connell has the better serve. This will be a tough match as the 50-50 odds show and the opening set will go the distance over 9.5 games.
