Popyrin vs Ruusuvuori – match predictions
Contents
We’ve got a pretty intriguing match-up for this third-round battle. Alexei Popyrin is here as a lucky loser, meaning he already lost in the Western & Southern Open – in the final round of qualifying. As for Emil Ruusuvuori, he was a direct entry into the main draw, and he has started the tournament with a bang. Adding to that, Popyrin is actually the higher-ranked of the two players, as he is ranked 58 while Ruusuvuori is ranked 60.
So, what markets are the most appealing for this match, and which have a good chance of generating a return on your wagers?
Popyrin to win a set – yes
These two guys have never played each other. Therefore, we don’t have any history to work with in regard to how tight this contest might be. But if we look at form, Popyrin is certainly playing well enough to be able to snag a set from Ruusuvuori – at the very least.
Over 22.5 games
Based on factors like game styles and recent results, I can’t see this being a straightforward victory for either player. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this game went right down to the wire. So with that in mind, I’d say that the over 22.5 games market looks promising, especially with all of Popyrin’s matches in this tournament going the distance so far.
Popyrin vs Ruusuvuori preview
Now that you are ready to roll after seeing my tennis predictions today, let’s shift gears and cover a brief preview of these players.
Alexei Popyrin preview
Popyrin has been enjoying a few strokes of luck in Cincinnati. He got into the main draw after losing in the final round of qualifying. Yet he then beat another lucky loser, then received a walker to reach this point. However, he has been playing solid tennis recently, as proven by his recent title in Croatia and his ranking of 58.
Emil Ruusuvuori preview
Emil Ruusuvuori is a difficult guy to play against when he gets going. He has a great serve, and he has some of the most powerful groundstrokes on tour. In fact, his game is very similar to Jannik Sinner’s, only he’s not quite as consistent as the Italian. With that said, he played a great match to take out Andrey Rublev in the previous round. So he is obviously hitting top form at the Western & Southern Open.
Popyrin vs Ruusuvuori head to head
These two guys have yet to meet in any ATP-sanctioned event. This means that the current head-to-head record for Popyrin vs Ruusuvuori is 0-0, although that will obviously change later today.
